Vehicle Detail
I purchased this car in August of 2011 with the intention of restoring it. I owned one just like it when I was younger---it was the first car I had purchased.I had dreams of doing the Smoky & Bandit Run someday once I had it back in pristine condition.Unfortunately, I sold the storage facility where I was housing the car and my wife doesn't want it outside. The following information was provided to me by the previous owner. I cannot verify or authentic all the claims made. Please examine the photos closely and inspect the car for yourself. I had no reason to doubt what the previous owner said. This is a 1977 Trans Am with a W72 200 4 speed Y82 Special Edition Bandit documented by PHS. The car has a numbers matching drive train that is in good condition and a WA coded engine. The carburetor has been replaced, but it has a good quad on it. Borg Warner T10 4 speed with factory Hurst shifter. POSI rear with 323 gears. Currently the care does have the incorrect color decals and the snowflakes painted blue. It is a true documented Bandit. What makes this car different from other Bandits is that this was ordered with the rare firethorn red deluxe Lombardy velour interior. It also has power windows, power locks, a/c, rear defrost, and title wheel. Everything is there and in working condition. For those who know the codes to these cars you will notice it is coded a Y82 which would indicate a T-top car. It likely was originally but the top has since been replaced making it a Y81, but still a genuine Y82. This is a real documented special edition. It has been neglected by other owners and is now a project car. This car is a rare special edition as there were only 2,699 Y82 s/e cars with a W72 4 speed option out of all the 15,657 special editions made in 1977. It would definitely be eye catching when finished and definitely different from the majority of other Bandits seen at car shows. The car does run but is not currently driveable until several things are fixed. This car will need:1. Passenger side rear quarter is new but installation is incomplete.2. Driver's side rear quarter needs a lower patch.3. Both front fenders need to be patched.4. Complete trunk pan to be perfect as well as drop offs and outer wheel wells.5. Rocker panel on passenger side 6. Doors and trunk will need cleaned up and a new seam sealer.7. Both rear frame rails have rust that will need to be repaired. The hood is rust free. The floors will need some attention but for the most part they are in okay condition with repairs needed only in a few small spots. The upholstery has faded, but is in good condition with no rips or tears. The dash does have cracks and the lower door panels should be replaced. I've tried to describe the car as honestly as I can. I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting, so feel free to contact me with any questions. The title states except on the mileage---Pa Titles are exempt after ten years, but I feel the 84,900 is likely accurate given the condition of some of the original parts.Title is in hand. This car is also being listed locally, and I reserve the right to end the auction early. Call Mark 570-660-5272 for additional information.
