Up for sale is a very well maintained 1979 Mercedes 300d. Engine: The car has a good running 5 cylinder diesel engine with just 194,000 miles on it. It does smoke a little bit, but it is a diesel after all. The car currently has the original factory A/C that works! However, I think it needs a little recharge. It doesn't blow very cold. The engine has been very well maintained. It has many newer parts. Previous owner replaced all of the following items within the last year: Fuel injectors (Genuine Bosch). Fuel filters and fuel lines. Electric fan added in front of radiator. Starter. In tank pickup. Vaccum pump. Fuel tank thoroughly cleaned. Body: It is a clean car in and out. It is a original California car with no rust. The original paint is in good condition. There are a few small scratches, which is to be expected on a 33 year old car. The body is in overall very good condition. Interior: The interor is in good to very good condition, especially for the year. It has not been damaged by the sun. Seats are in good condition, with no major wear. Dash has a few small cracks, but overall very good. Door panels are in good condtion. Original radio still functional. All four powers windows are in good condtion working condition. Tires and Rims: The car has very nice chrome rims. Not sure if they are aftermarket or the previous owner had them chromed. All tires are in very good condition with 80% to 90% tread left on them. Transmission: The transmission is in good mechanical condition. The only problem with the transmission is it either needs a new kickdown switch or the bowden rods adjusted. When driving the car it will only switch into the next gear after it revs up to about 3,000 rpms. The transmission itself is in good condition, takes all gears well and doesn't slip.
