FEEL FREE TO MAKE AN OFFER AT ANYTIME AND WE CAN TALK VIA PHONE IF YOU PREFER. 1965 FORD GALAXIE COUNTRY SEDAN WAGON. This is a clean original wagon that is in great original shape and is rust free. It has a 289 V-8 that runs excellent and is most likely the original engine. This car was bought new in Santa Clara California on 9/8/65 at the west valley ford dealership. It was owned originally in California, and then brought to Montana. The body is very nice for an un-restored original car this old. The car comes with the original owners manual and various receipts for work done in the past. More pictures are in the photobucket link. Here are all the details. MECHANICAL The wagon has a 2V 289 v8 with three speed auto. The motor runs great and always starts. It has a newer exhaust that is a single, but actually sounds pretty cool. I think it's a 3" system with one flowmaster. The engine runs cool and doesn't knock or anything abnormal. No dripping leaks. It has great oil pressure that stays good when warm. This car has power steering and non-power brakes. Wheels in the pics are NOT included. I only have two anyways but summit sells their own brand of welds now that are cheap if you want to stick with that look. The car comes with original 15" steel wheels and hubcaps and nice tires. Hubcaps are era correct but I don't think they are '65 models. Transmission was rebuilt 11k ago and works great. Receipt is included. Heater, wipers, rear window, horn, radio, turn signals, speedometer, fuel gauge and lights work. Radio comes on and should work with an antenna. This car drives GREAT on the highway. Smooth as glass and straight. Cruises at 70 effortlessly. Has nice highway gearing. Brakes should be updated to power, but they do work. The car needs no major mechanical work. It should have the normal tuneup stuff and fluids changed, but it runs nice. No rust. I've been under and all over it and it's clean. It has a couple dings/dents in it but nothing major. No sign that it's ever been painted or had any work. No overspray or bondo anywhere. Doors/windows all work. Rear electric window works. Grille is about as nice as you'll ever find. The car actually looks better than the pictures and the white is brighter and it's shiny. The quarters, floors, doors, hood, roof, jams, sills, rockers, firewall, frame, inner fenders/wheelhouses, header, etc. are rust free. Windshield has pits and a couple very small chips but is completely usable. Rear window works but needs adjusted as it doesn't go up all the way. It goes within an inch of completely rolling up. The window or shutoff switch need adjusting. The body is nice on this car. INTERIOR Interior is usable but has the usual wear of an old car. Front seat has been recovered at some point and needs it again. Rear seat is nice. Dash pad is shot. The rest of the dash/gauge are is in good shape. Nobody tried to put an aftermarket stereo in which is good. Carpet is usable but has usual wear. Doorpanels are pretty nice. Headliner is bad. OVERALL This is a cool wagon that looks great now, or would be a great candidate for a restoration. I had previously found that and forgot to put it in the listing before it started. Tailgate jam is fine. The rest of the car is fine except the battery tray which is easily replaceable and cheap.
