Engine/Transmission and Performance: 90,688 miles on the engine and the transmission is a 5 speed which replaced the original 4 speed. The transmission replacement occurred before our purchase. The engine has been maintained professionally over the years. The engine fires right up and is strong and solid. It does not ping, miss or backfire. The BMW gears shift smoothly, no grinding.
