Vehicle Detail
This Auction is for a BIG BLOCK car, but I set the opening bid amount according to what I saw a SMALL BLOCK car recently sell for on eBay, (details on the comparable are at the bottom of this ad). Since I have a big block car it is reasonable to get a little more for it than the comparable. The bottom of the ad also contains further information on how to view the extra SUPERBEE parts that I have for sale. ****** DETAILS ON THIS AUCTION ******** HISTORY: Lifetime garaged southern car. Sold in 3/8/05 by National Veterans Foundation, Torrance CA at 87,500 original miles. I owned since 2005, put very few miles on it and always kept it in dry garage. For the time period that I owned the car, I have not seen any blistering of paint, which is pretty amazing since I’ve seen that happen to other cars just a few years after a new restoration. Current Mileage: 88,644(original) Factory specs include: Big Block Engine with 906 Heads, FY1 - Top Banana paint color, Black Interior and top P/S, P/B, A/C ALL NUMBERS MATCH: VIN, TITLE, Trim Tag, Both body stampings, Engine Block stamping. BODY: I took a picture deep into the trunk around the wheel well. Notice the picture shows extremely nice metal for a car of this age. This area would have shown considerable rust after just one single Northern winter, of curb-side road salt run-off being kicked up into the wheel well. The floors and trunk pan have never been replaced. MAJOR MECHANICAL: Engine Cylinders: There are NO clouds of black smoke while running. This suggests normal wear for the mileage (no abuse). Heads: Top of 906 Heads look very clean (no black deposits from blow-by). I don’t hear any lifter or valve noise. A dial indicator was used on all valves to verify that there was no major cam/lifter/valve wear or sticking. Comparing the lift for all valves: Intake valves: The largest variation (difference) in lift between any two valves is only 0.046”. Exhaust valves: The largest variation (difference) in lift between any two valves is only 0.042”. Fuel System: Two carburetors are included. I drove this car home and regularly started the car with its original Holley carb. I have documents to show that this Holley is original equipment for this car. Due to modern fuels, etc, the Holley needs rebuild, so I recently replaced it with a Carter that was also offered for this year. The Carter is professionally rebuilt, including new bushings, etc..... I recently added a new electric fuel pump. Proper fuel pressure is maintained, as shown in picture. The seams of the gas tank look good and I’ve included picture. Keep in mind that the Holley was recently running on fuel from the tank, but since I since I spent a bit of money on the carb and pump, I set a temporary fuel cell in the trunk to ensure the car gets the freshest gas. If I don’t get a chance to drop the tank and flush it out, then the buyer will receive the fuel cell. I inspected and provided information on what was important to me. I have not gone over the entire car with a fine-tooth-comb because I don’t worry about things that are normal wear for a car this age or things that I can mechanically repair on my own. If I have not provided the level of detail that you want then I urge you to make an appointment to come see the car before bidding. This is a 40+ year old unrestored car, so there is no warranty expressed or implied. See below link for a comparable eBay sale and Parts, or click the eBay Advanced Search tab and enter Item number: 320895932935, sold $13,600). The link also contains pictures of parts from a titled & trim-tagged SUPERBEE. The buyer of the car will get first priority to make an offer on the parts. I’m not trying to make a killing on the parts, please be patient and wait until the sale ends. http://s982.photobucket.com/profile/kevs-pics On Jul-08-12 at 11:03:35 PDT, seller added the following information: ************** RESERVE*************: Some constructive feedback I've gotten is that the big block and a few other favorable factory items should bring more than the comparable. I've heard anything from an extra $900 for the big block and on up for the other favorable factory items. I'm interested in a quick sale and with this $900 amount, I bet you can guess the reserve............
