I am the original owner and driver of this 2004 VW Passat TDI. Most of the miles have been highway driven as my commuter car. Although it is a very clean, smoke-free vehicle that has been very well maintained, it is not perfect. I'm only selling due to now needing an AWD car with more load capacity. The fact that you are looking at this listing, probably means you know the benefits of this car, so I won't throw the marketing stuff at you. I have the original owners manuals, window sticker, sales receipts, etc. Unfortunately, I only have one key for the car. EXTERIOR CONDITION is very good with a few flaws I would say is typical for a car of this age (tiny poc marks on hood, few small mars on bumpers, 1-2 minor nicks, minor bubbling on front passenger wheel well - (see picture.) 2-3 small stone chips in windshield that were professionally repaired/warranted. Wheels are in good shape with only a bit of curb rash. One wheel has more significant rash, which I show in the pictures. Additionally, I believe a Carfax report will show one "accident" with this car. This was a non-moving, parking lot scrape on the plastic bumper which happened when the car was only 6 months old. I had it repaired through insurance which reports these events to Carfax. The repair was just over $500 and I have the receipt for the work which shows how minor it was. Other than that, the paint is all original and in good condition and shines pretty well. INTERIOR CONDITION is very good, clean, no smells, staining, etc. Seats have minimal wear as I have conditioned them with Lexol a few times over the life of the car. All the trim is in great shape, no cracking, sagging, worn buttons, tears, etc. MECHANICAL CONDITION is very good. The car has been dealer maintained with all scheduled services performed, except for the last few oil changes where I have used top quality Amsoil synthetic diesel engine oil at a local facility, (fresh oil change just completed.) I have all receipts for the maintenance done, which includes the timing belt and Glow Plug recall at 90K. The front suspension has been replaced, including Koni FSD shocks in 2010, as well as replaced brake pads, rotors and fluid. The current summer tires are Michelin Energy Saver Low Rolling Resistance tires I put on at 117K miles. They actually added 2-3MPG to the normal 38-40 highway MPG. I'd say there is at least 50% left on them as I swap them for winter tires (see below.) The only issues to point out are that the rear speakers don't work and I only have one key for the car. ADDITIONAL FEATURES OFFERED - Second set of winter wheels with excellent Dunlop 3D Winter Sport tires (~75% remaining), winter mats, mud flaps, nose bra, Neuspeed rear anti-sway bar. This has been a great car and should provide many years of service to its new owner. SUMMARY - I have tried to describe the car to the best of my ability, but I am not a mechanic and this is a private sale. The car is being sold "as-is", so please do your own research. YES it does have heated seats. I think that is part of the Cold Weather Package option the car has. Also, one small issue I initially overlooked which I will mention now - the left/right wheel adjustment for the center vents are stuck. Don't know why. The up/down/close works fine. You can stick a pinky finger between the louvers and adjust them, which you may have to do once if you don't like where I have them...
