Vehicle Detail

Watch a video about this pickup here: - http://youtu.be/zTkNMJQzvS4 This 1975 GMC 3500 Sierra Camper Special pickup is one serious truck. It features the 454 Big Block engine that has incredible power and only 58,862 actual miles! (We have the paper trail for this odometer reading to prove it is factual. See photo) The original owner's manual is included as well. (Photo) Under the hood this camper special has space for 2 12-volt batteries; one for starting and one for powering the 12 volt DC camper (should you have one). There are also 2 gas tanks, one on each side, and each tank holds approximately 18 gallons. The left tank is the main tank we've used while the right tank has been the backup. (The right tank tends to leak if filled too full)When we purchased this truck a few years ago with slightly over 51,000 miles on it we then: Installed a brand new radiator and new hoses Replaced the dangerous split-rim wheels with safer, modern heavy-duty versionsInstalled six new heavy duty tires, 2 in front, 4 in back (front tires are somewhat weather-checked now - back ones look good - all tires have tons of tread left)Replaced the U-jointsReplaced the beltsRebuilt the transmissionInstalled new hoses to the transmission coolerPlus new hoses to the oil coolerInstalled all new brakesNew heavy-duty shocks, front & rear Installed a new, stainless-steel dual muffler/exhaust systemInstalled a new exhaust manifoldJust installed a brand new battery and a new electronic gas pump with new gas-line filters plus a carburetor overhaul. This truck has just passed the Missouri Motor Vehicle Inspection (MVI) which means that all safety items are working and it is ready to be licensed to hit-the-road! As added bonuses, there is a deluxe CB radio and an after-market intermittent wiper controller included. The back window has dual sliders so that you can get plenty of fresh air. Behind the seat is a custom metal storage bin/rack with a compartment that has an operable door so that you can stow all the extras you need or want for your travels. This model has wing vents plus floor vents so you can circulate air through the cab and out the back window openings. The driver's side tail-light has a depression in it where a rock or something hit it. (Photo) The only exterior rust is shown on the small section just in front of the driver's side front tire. (Photo) There is a smattering of slight surface rust along the edge of the doors and the truck bed also has some surface rust but the metal is solid. The paint on the hood is rough, probably due to the heat of the engine, and the hood shows a bend because of the hefty closure springs. All-in-all this truck is very intact and pretty darn beefy. You will notice that there is an extended frame that holds the back bumper away from the truck body. This extended frame is designed to hold a camper that overhangs the truck bed.
