1969 Mercury Cougar XR-7 For sale is an excellent example of a California Cougar, in a very original condition. This car is a great example of a period correct scheme, with all original attributes. Perfect for a collector, and "refreshed" for reliable transportation. This California car has a clean title, and no rust. Original matching 351 Windsor, 2v, and matching automatic transmission. Equipped with luxury XR7 package, the car still has an original interior with leather seats, and working dash clock! All electrical components such as map light, interior lights, and 8-track player still work! The exterior shows well for the age, and has been repainted once to a similar matching red color.This Cougar has always been a California car, and with documents shows only 3 owners. The car has been in storage for the past 10 years, started weekly, but has recently been gone through to make perfectly reliable. Over the past month I have gone through the car, performed extensive maintenance to make it suitable for daily driving.Here is a list of services performed within the last month, with attention to originality at mind:-Front Break pads-Rear shoes and cylinders-Valve Job-Fixed Crack in head-Head Gasket-New 3 Roll Aluminum Radiator-All belts and most hoses replaced-Speedometer Cable-Thermostat-Head valve cover gasket-Spark Plugs, oil change, and filters-New gas tank-Outer tie-rods -New Battery-Rebuilt headlight actuator -Since these pictures were taken, I have installed a brand new set of tires for all 4 wheels. Mostly Ford parts used, and service performed by a professional mechanic shop. Original Cougars are harder to come by these days, and solid examples are also rare. This is my 6th Cougar that I have bought/restored/refreshed within the last 6 months. This is one of the cleanest, and most original examples I have come across.This is a very straight car, no rust, low original miles, matching numbers, and a great addition to Cougar collectors garage!
