Vehicle Detail
1967 Renault R10 in great condition, runs and drives. This car is very rare, especially in this condition. The tailights are specific to just this one year, from '68 they were changed. Tailights are brand new original Renault replacement lenses. The exterior has been repainted by the previous owner in its original color, it does have a couple of chips and very minor scratches. Not a trailer queen but definitely a looker, gets lots of attention at car shows. The body is straight, no dents and NO RUST! The car was garage kept all its life and then placed in storage while being occasionally driven. All trim is there, also in good condition. The bumpers have a little bit of oxidation on the edges and the front bumper has a dent in it. The driver's door has some cracks in it from what looks to be bad bondo work by the previous owner prior to painting. Aside from that the body in near flawless. No rust whatsoever in the door jams, under the original rubber mats (also in good condition). The seats are also in great condition, no cracks and very comfortable. Renaults used to be know for their comfort. The only issue is with the top of the rear bench, it has cracked from the sun, just the top portion of it. Shouldn't cost more than $100 to fix. I covered it with a black towel, can't even notice. The car is all original and absolutely everything works in it. All the headlights, turn signals, interior lights, horn, wipers, even the windshield washer. The engine fires right up on the first try without any issues whatsoever. It runs smooth, idles perfectly and does not leak! Currently the fuel is sourced from a bottle in the engine bay, that's how I bought the car and never got around to figuring out the issue with the gas tank. Could need a cleaning or maybe just the tubes that go to the fuel pump replaced. The transmission is a 3-speed automatic, it's a push-button on the dash. It works like an SMG transmission, you put it in gear and it stays in neutral. As you press the gas the clutch engages and the car takes off smoothly. Very innovative, especially given that it's 45 years old. Wheels are original, including the spare, repainted and brand new center caps added. Tires are also original Michelin X with tubes, they should be changed and currently one tire is flat. I don't have the time to order a new one so at least one new tube and tire will have to be installed in order to drive it. There is a company (Coker) that makes period correct Michelin X tires and tubes so this isn't really an issue but wanted to be as descriptive as possible. The brake system has been redone, the master cylinder has been rebuild as well as all 4 calipers (it has disc brakes all around). The brake lines have been replaced with new ones. The handbrake doesn't hold too well, I didn't have time to check, it might just need tightening. A $250 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the end of the auction. The car needs to be picked up within 7 days of the end of the auction. Serious bidders please! The car is located in Queens, NY and is available to be shown. Serious offers can also be considered. I'm happy to answer any questions and will respond within 24 hours. Happy bidding! On Jun-28-12 at 19:38:24 PDT, seller added the following information:
