Vehicle Detail

1957 Pontiac StarChief Catalina 1957 Pontiac Starchief 2 Door Catalina. Original 347 Engine with Rochester 4 bbl. 3 Speed Transmission with Dual Exhaust with Chrome Tips. A show and driver car. In as close to factory as they come. Has won awards at all Pontiac shows in stock category. Complete drive train has been rebuilt 700 miles ago. Start & runs like a champ, everything works except the factory radio, speedometer & wiper motor which cjust needs to be installed. Wipers are there with parts but currently not working in Southern California. Interior seat covers have been re-covered in factory theme like, very nice condition (not leather). A perfect headliner and very good carpet, Door panels are in very good condition. Glass is all original & perfect except 2- fixed chips in front. Body & all chrome trim is complete and in very good condition. I personally have taken a magnet all over the body & can find no place it will not stick on metal, there is NO RUST or BONDO on this car !! Floorpans are solid as is trunk. There is one minor paint chip & no significant scratches on the paint. If you want to win top trophies & awards you would need to spend about $2K to rechrome front bumper & more chrome parts + $600 to re-pop the correct steering wheel & re-chrome correct horn ring which I have. Other than that it's a great time capsule that will out live both you & me !!! On Youtube watch video / top search bar Type in Words > 1957 Pontiac StarChief Catalina More Interior Pictures Can be seen at Hubgarage dot com (In Top Search Bar) Type in words >1957 Pontiac Starchief Limefire Green Then click or double click on picture of the 1957 Pontiac Starchief, that will open up many other pictures. This Starchief was originally built in Kansas City, then spent time in Oklahoma before I bought her in Georgia. Car sat till about 2005 when I had it shipped from Georgia to Southern California. All drive train work was completed under my watch and machine shop reciepts for the car are all availible. I have 3 ring binder that is 3 inches thick with documentation on the car. Have receipts since I purchased in 2006 for major engine & gear box work done & many, many minor other small parts. This is a driver and has a lot of potential for anything from complete frame off to a low rider or just drive & enjoy the car as is. It’s a rare Pontiac that gets loads of attention with the Limefire Green & Seafoam Green 2 tone color combo that is factory correct. Everyone loves the 2 tone paint combo that is again driver quality older paint. Manual steering and manual drum brakes. This is a fine example of a car that has not been messed with. This Pontiac Starchief can & is driven fine in it's current condition. It is a great driver & not a show room piece. These 1957 Pontiac Starchiefs in Concours Condition 1 to 2 will bring $40-$50K at auction. This is the hottest color combo made in 57 in my opinion. 3" White Wall Radial Tires 205/75R-14 factory wheels. 1962 Pontiac hubcaps if I am correct on that?? I have 2 sets of 1957 correct "Top Hat" hub caps in great condition, I think the hub caps currently on the car look a bit more sporty. Tons of Extra parts & correct steering wheels. Extra hub caps sets & 2 center chrome horn rings that all go with the car worth another $300 alone. Have many 57 Pontiac parts that go with the car, including extra set of perfect condition side spear chrome moldings worth $500 alone. Notice the front "Halo Mirrors" ?? Rare option !! You will never cruise to a show or drive in and see another like it. This car brings a crowd at the local cruise in's. Trust me I have been driving it to shows in Southern California for 6 years. It’s all there and all square, bring your magnets cause there ain’t no bondo. The paint is drive quality & just fine for driving around. Just trying to be as honest & up front as I can for everyone's benefit. Current paint is maybe 10+ yrs old however has been well kept inside. Trunk interior has what looks like original looking carpet and pad with spare & jack. Has rear gears for days and can climb a mountains. This car will take a bullet, & keep going. She will take a dirt road & demolish 3 smart cars & keep right on going. This 4,500 lb vehicle is capable of taking out a deer and it will keep rolling along. It’s nothing short of a Sherman tank, It’s a cruiser, It’s a cruise missile, it’s a classic and it won’t last. Custom personilzed California Plates "SC 57" go with car along with all documentation & parts. HISTORY OF THIS VEHICLE Built in Kansas City, then was owned for most of it’s life in Oklahoma before being restored in Augusta, Georgia. After I inspected the Pontiac for about 2 hours I purchased the Pontiac in 2006 and had it shipped out to the west coast. Soon after that the complete drive train was dis-assembled & rebuilt matching numbers engine & GM factory gear box. Then purchased new 3 inch White wall 14 inch bias ply radial tires. Pontiac has maybe 800 miles on the car after the complete rebuild with reconditioned radiator & all new hoses, wires, plugs & gaskets etc. I have & will include a 3 ring binder with all reciepts since 2006 to present. Drives & runs perfect. Just drove it up to 6K feet above sea level & back last year in the mountains without a hitch. Rear gears will climb to enternity.
