Vehicle Detail

RELISTED WITH A LOWER RESERVE! For sale is this rare 1970 Charger R/T 440 – 4bbl, 4-speed, Dana 60 Track pack car. It is one of the 1,443 4-speed Charger R/T cars produced. It’s fender tag has been decoded by Galen Govier and is #441 in Galen’s registry. The build sheet is not present. The car is a beautiful color combination of Burnt Orange exterior and Burnt Orange interior, contrasted by a white vinyl top and white C stripe. The car has an added black out hood with the white 440 decals (not original), and a vintage tach. The fender tag has been decoded and is read from left to right and from bottom to top: E86 Engine: 440 1-4bbl 375hp V8 440 magnum D21 Transmission: A833 4-speed Manual Hurst pistol grip XS Car Line: Dodge Charger R/T 29 Body Type: 2 door sports hardtop U Engine: 440 1-4bbl 375hp V8 440 magnum 0 Model Year: 1970 F-series G Assembly Plant: St. Louis, MO 195770 Assembly plant sequential number FK5 Body Paint: dark burnt orange Metallic C Trim grade: Charger 6 Front seats: Vinyl Bucket K4 Interior: burnt orange FK5 Upper door frame color: Dk burnt orange 224 Scheduled production date: Tuesday February 24, 1970 052347 Vehicle order number V1W Style roof/color: full vinyl/white A04 Basic group A33 Track pack B51 Power brakes C16 Console w/woodgrain top C55 Bucket seats G33 Outside LH remote mirror-chrome conventional J25 3-speed wipers w/ electric washers J45 Hood pins M21 Drip rail mouldings M31 Body belt mouldings R11 Radio: music master AM V6W Stripe: longitudinal sport-white Tape Y16 Sales bank 26 Radiator – 26” width END end of fender tag codes This car is a nice partial survivor, meaning that the car was taken off the road in 1980 and partially disassembled for restoration. The previous owner found it missing the original engine, front grille and bumper removed, tail lights and bumper removed, interior removed. Vinyl top removed. All parts were present, just removed for restoration. The car retained it’s original paint, which included various dings. The only rust issue on the car were the lower rear quarters. The previous owner decided that the car was so close to original, that he should put it back together as is. The previous owner owned a mechanical repair shop and everything was done in a professional manner. The following repairs were done by the previous owner around 2004 and I purchased the car in 2008. The lower rear quarters were replaced and the paint blended it from the lower c-stripe down. The front and rear bumpers were re-chromed A new white vinyl top was installed. The seats were recovered with Legendary seat covers, The door panels were replaced with Legendary panels A new headliner and package tray were installed. New door cat whiskers New door seal kit New trunk mat New trunk seal kit The Brakes were completely rebuilt New shocks were installed New U joints were installed New exhaust with dyno max super turbo mufflers and correct exhaust tips New tires The missing engine was replaced with a 440 (D440 5 14 HP2), with a new six pack added at a cost of $2499, including new intake, carbs and air cleaner, directly from Mopar. The engine is fully rebuilt and has approx. 1,500 break in miles on it. The engine has: a purple cam (P4452993) light ported heads and double valve springs. New High volume oil pump New Airtek fuel pump New voltage regulator New oil pressure sending unit New temp sending unit New belts New motor mounts The original hemi 4-speed and Dana 60 rear end are intact. The Clutch is completely rebuilt with a Centerforce performance clutch Current mileage is 67,023 The Charger runs very good, but will need the six pack tuned to run perfectly. Upper door panels are in need of replacement.
