Vehicle Detail

1970 Porsche 914 1.7 TargaUp for auction today is this fantastic little 914. It is in excellent condition, especially for a first year example. It is straight as an arrow and has only a tiny bit of rust by the battery. It starts easily with little effort even when cold. It puffs one plume of white smoke on initial start and nothing more. All the syncros work properly and the clutch is perfect, with just an inch of free play at the top. The brakes stop straight and true. It has not leaked at all in the 2 weeks I have been enjoying the car. I have been reading some of the auto-porn that other sellers have to say about their 914s... Unfortunately I don't have a 10 year love affair with this little car.. More like a 2 week fling, but they can be just as thrilling. I found this car at one of the dealerships I sometimes frequent. It was hiding all the way in the back of a massive Chevrolet dealership. It was a recent trade-in. The best part of the story is that I was only there killing time with a customer that flew in from North Dakota to drive his purchase back home. He was the winner of the 1980 Corvette I sold recently and we were waiting for a few mechanical details to be completed on his car before his long drive home. I was showing him how I do what I do, looking for cars to buy and such. I never expected to find anything as it is a daunting task to say the least. For those of you who don't know, looking for these cars in nooks and crannies behind dealerships never pays off. I believe it was the luck of Phil my last customer that brought me and this car together. I called the manager of the dealership and bought this car on the spot. I am a Porsche nut and this car had almost everything everybody wants to find. Pride of ownership everywhere.. Excellent black paint.. ok let me describe excellent paint on a 914. To me this means that there is no mismatching panels or patches or thick body filler. It means that from 3 feet away the car looks perfect. This is a 914 and for the time being, not a car worthy of a 15k paint job. I have no reciept for the work done, but it seems within a few years old and in my professional estimate would cost about $4000 to complete. The interior is super nice.. As nice as it gets as a matter of fact.. I cant find a flaw. Custom floor mats and a great stereo too. The gas burner wheels are also a great addition. They are wrapped in brand new tires and are beautifully finished in gold. You can just barely see the red calipers through the slots in the wheels.. The PCA member/previous owner even left his Porsche ball cap in the bonnet with all the tools and books. I am here on ebay to sell this car and I believe that the market is going noplace but up on these cars. The nice cars set the pace and this is one of them. I can not guarentee the miles but they are certainly believeable. I am starting the bidding super low with a low reserve. This car is going to sell. I will also end the auction early for a good enough offer so don't hesitate giving me a call. The car is 100% ready to be loved and shown and driven or any other thing you would want from her. Justin 503-969-5127 Bid with confidence!
