Up for bids is a 2004 Freightliner (Same as Dodge or Mercedes) 2500 Sprinter Ambulance. This was retired from service by a private ambulance service but it has a lot of life left!!! -The conversion was done by Medix Ambulance.-It has its motor vehicle inspection in the State of maine, good until May of 2013.-It is not currently registered but is completely roadworthy. -It comes with 4 keys/fobs!. Mechanical: -Mechanically the truck is in overall good condition.-Being an ambulance the truck has been while maintained throughout its life-The truck runs great with no check engine, airbag, abs lights.-The truck just received a fresh oil change using Napa premium 15W40 diesel motor oil.-The engine and transmission are original, they have no leaks and run strong.-The spring for the fuel door is missing, but nothing is damaged.-The tires aren't great. They are all 12 ply and are worn evenly but there is probably only 3/32 left on the front and a little more then that on the rear. The spare is about half tread.-It would appear the very end of the tailpipe corroded and fell off. The rest of the exhaust is in very good shape. It should only require a new 90 degree exhaust tip-The truck has a pro-air auxiliary air conditioning system with a condenser under the truck and an additional evaporator for the rear. It works but not great. I believe the system is tight, it just never worked that well.-The truck has two isolated batteries. One for the truck and one for the ambulance module.Body: The body is in good overall shape. I've tried to include pictures of what rust there is. It is all surface rust and at typical sprinter rust points. The rear window has some rust peeking through. The sliding door has a small bit of rust. The left side of the truck in front of the rear wheel has a little rust and the inside of the hood at the outer edge has a little. There is a slight dent under the fuel filler door. There are a few bits of vinyl wrap left on the body from the vehicle wrap it had. The underside of the truck is super clean!!! Ambulance Conversion: -The ambulance conversion is completely intact right down to the cot mount.-For lighting it has a Whelen Edge light bar, (4) halogen 900 series lights on the sides along with 4 halogen floods, it has (2) 700 series LED lights in the grill, (4) 700 series LED lights on the rear doors, (2) 500 series LED lights in the fenders and (2) 500 series LED lights on the rear pillar. Everything but the blue 700 series light on the left rear door works.... I think that it may just have a contact issue between the door and body.-The Siren is a Carson SA400 200watt siren amplifier and works.-The truck has a Tripp Lite EMS1250UL medical grade 1250 watt inverter. These are very expensive, but can run almost anything!-The cot bracket is for a Ferno 35 type cot (most any modern cot will fit including Strykers).-All of the vinyl in the rear of the truck is in good shape-The suction unit is intact and works.-The Weldon dome lights all work.-The power exhaust unit works.-There are lots of cabinets!!! Extras: -Extras with the truck include an additional wheel without tire, a right rear taillight and a couple charge air cooler lines. This would be a great truck for a tradesman or a camper conversion or with a small amount of work could go back into service as an ambulance!!!
