Vehicle Detail

100% original 93 Cobra out of storage and up for sale! I am the original owner of this car. When I purchased it in September '93, my father had to sign the loan and so the title remained under his name until I got my own insurance and had the title transferred to my name. So the vehicle may show as having 2 owners, though the address remained the same when transferred so I don't know if just a name change to the same address increments the number of owners for a New Jersey title.External Cosmetic issues - Left Front Fender - The left front fender has black surface specks caused by battery acid. My other commuter car at the time had to go in the shop for repair and so I went and put the Cobra on the road to drive to work in the interim. The battery was dead and had to be replaced. I put a new replacement battery in and when I put it in, I noticed the side of the battery case was cracked. When I took it out battery acid trickled on the left front fender. I quickly washed it off and later noticed the black specks on the fender. Left Rear - In September '04, the left rear of the car was in a very minor accident as indicated in the photos. I was making a left turn (which I had the right of way) into a McDonalds parking lot at about 12 MPH when a person in a Toyota truck just started to pull out and brushed my car. The left rear panel and hatch will need to be repaired. I'm not a sheet metal repair expert but If I could give advice, I would look to have the panel reshaped by a seasoned auto body technician and skimmed with a modern high end filler. (I contacted a member of SVT Cobra Owners Association which I was a member of asking for advice on the repair. It just happened that his car was hit in the same spot, only his story is more interesting in that he was driving around a road course, spun out, and tapped a railing. The body shop reshaped the sheet metal on his car without having to replace the panel.) The left rear taillight will need to be replaced (you can find a nice set from Blue Oval Industries on ebay for under 200.00 shipped). The wheel on the left rear has small rubber mark from the other vehicle rubbing it. I think it can be removed with a good wheel cleaner. The center cap has a tiny ding when looked at closely so you may opt to replace it. The incident with the battery acid and the scuff at McDonalds all happened in the same day :-(. Hood - The hood has some dents on the top right side and will need to be replaced. The damage was caused by someone standing on the hood :-(.Mechanical - Drivers side power seat switch that raises and lowers the seat only goes up and not down. I guess this is the turning point in my description :-). It will need a new switch which you can find pretty cheap.Mechanically, everything else works perfect and is original. The tires with original date codes and wheels are original and in beautiful shape and have remained on the car since new. The rear brake pads were replaced by the Ford dealer at 8,000 miles under warranty because they were squeaking a bit from trapped brake dust or something.Once the odometer hit 500 miles, I changed out the factory oil for Mobil 1 full synthetic. The oil has been changed a ridiculous amount of times since then. Mostly every 1K miles, sometimes every 3K. The oil was also changes while sitting in storage and the car was started on occasion. The serpentine belt was replaced at 500 miles also to preserve the original belt which is date coded. The original belt is included in the sale.I also have the original gray painted with white label motorcraft oil filter. This original filter has a dent in it from the filter pliers I used to loosen it. Original filter is included.Car Battery is not included. You will need to purchase a new one. No aftermarket parts were ever used on this car to enhance its performance. The SVT Team did a fine job engineering this car. Internal -The center console was replaced by the Ford dealer at 8,000 miles because the mounting tab for the ash tray broke. BTW, this is a non-smoker car.The hard plastic steering column cover has a small scuff on the top (see photo of instrument cluster). The interior is like brand new. The passenger seat was only occupied a few times and the rear seats were occupied maybe 3 times. The carpet is nice and clean. Cobra floor mats included are the originals.Undercarriage -As you can see in the photos, the undercarriage is very clean and all of the factory paint markings are still intact on the undercarriage and engine compartment. The big white X crayon marking on the gas tank is also a factory marking.Paper -Original owners manualOriginal SVT Certificate with VIN number and indicates build # 4771 of 4993No window stickerTitle is Clean and in hand. Accident was reported to DMV The car drives perfect and passed inspection with the body damage. I only had to put red tape over the crack on the taillight to pass. The alignment is perfect and there were no vibrations when I last drove it on the highway. The current inspection sticker on the car expired 9/2006. This is an easy fix and well worth it for a Cobra that has been taken care of. To give you an idea of how this car has been taken care of, it is the first and only new car I ever bought and I had no intention to ever sell it since taking deliver of it in September 1993. I have some 90 pictures of the car that I will try and post somewhere (I think ebay limits it to 24 pic's) including a bunch of photos of the undercarriage, interior, engine compartment, wheels, and original tires that have never been taken off the car. All photos were taken last week on Memorial Day.Please only bid if you have sufficient funds to pay a non-refundable deposit of $771.00 within 48 hours of winning this auction and are able to pay the remaining balance within 7 days after the auction completes. The car will be available for pickup once full payment has been received and cleared. Buyer responsible for all shipping arrangements. If you have not had any experience with shipping a vehicle, I can offer you advice as I've taken delivery of both a motorcycle and a full size Ford truck via eBay auction. I've done my best to describe my Cobra at length, and as unbiased as a Cobra car enthusiast can, to give you as much information about the cars history and condition. If you are a Cobra Enthusiast, this is your opportunity to own an easy fix Cobra with low mileage and full history. You will not be disappointed. Have fun and thanks for looking. I'm exclusively offering this vehicle to the eBay community for sale (it is not for sale locally). This is a no reserve auction! On Jun-11-12 at 23:01:13 PDT, seller added the following information:Wow! Thanks for all your inquiries. Please note that this auction is exclusive to eBay bids so outside cash offers are not being accepted. I've added more pictures of the cobra here.
