Vehicle Detail
One of only 6,644 1964 Tempest Convertibles produced makes this car rare from day one. This car is complete and ready to go with a 326, 2 speed power glide, power steering, power brakes, good serviceable top, great driving very solid car. Could take it out and enjoy today or could be fully restored to make a GTO clone car. Doors, quarter panels, inner quarters, lower quarter skirts, deck lid, hood are all solid. Trunk has been cleaned, de-rusted, and sprayed with DP90 to prevent further rust. A couple of minor spots where rust was can be seen in photos. New exhaust, new carburetor, new brakes, excellent tires, new rear shocks, new carpet, new windshield, motor is strong and sounds great. Has power top, motor runs but does not move top (needs work), all top irons are straight. Interior needs some work to be show quality. Great driver all around. On Jun-02-12 at 19:35:32 PDT, seller added the following information: I am posting some additional information as a response to several questions that I have received. - The minor rust spots that I am referring to are a couple of holes in the trunk floor that are about the size of a nickel. The rust has been cleaned and treated to prevent further rust from forming. There is no visible rust on any of the body panels. - The car has been on several road trips since we have owned it and I wouldn't hesitate to hop in and go. - Frame is very solid and there are no signs of any repairs that have been made. - I had intended to put up the photos of the minor trunk rust but I uploaded too many photos to begin with and hit my limit before I got those uploaded. We have had many '64 and '65 Pontiac's in the past and this one is as solid as we have seen. It does have some minor blemishes as an unrestored car of it's age would but the bones are very good.
