I am selling my 1986 VW Golf 1.6L Diesel. I am not going to say its the prettiest car but it has been a good car mechanically. Was a daily driver for well over 2 years. Runs good but not the fastest car on the road but it gets you from A to B. The best thing about this car is the economy. As a daily driver I typically saw 560 miles per tank (12 gal tank). The best was 580 miles per tank. Been a good car but looking to start a new project and need to thin the herd out. Some details of car:***There is no power anything in the car, all manual. ***Has A/C but not working (R12, either compressor is bad or orifice tube is bad)Does have rust on body and doors. Strut mount areas cleanEngine does smoke some but more when when you get on it. (smoke out the slow pokes)Replaced alternator, battery, shifter bushings and new clutch when I got it.Glow plug circuit stopped working (have not had time to look into it). Will start but is quite fussy when coldTires are generally good.Some body damage on left quarter by taillight and a few dents on roof. Occurred with previous owner(s) Car is SOLD-AS-IS.
