2005 Shelby Supercharged Coupe – CSM#05SC0022 Redfire Metallic on Black/Red Shelby Custom Leather Interior Only 9K miles – 1 of Only 5 Ever Produced If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive way to get into a “REAL” Shelby Collector car that could also serve as a reliable high performance daily driver or weekend car show attendee, your search is over. What do I mean by “REAL?” Well, as great as the standard 2007+ GT500s are- those cars were built on the assembly line at the Ford plant, not modified by hand and given a CSM number in the Shelby American facility in Las Vegas. (Unless they are a Super Snake or GT500KR model of course). Wait! Before you send me a nasty email about how great your GT500 is- Stop! I owned a black on black 08 GT500 convertible. I know they are great cars! My point is simply that this car is very exclusive and much more collectible than a standard GT500 ever will be. If performance is your primary buying motive, the SSC coupe is also lighter weight, has a higher horsepower rating (550 vs 500), and has FAR better handling and braking characteristics than a stock 2007-2009 GT500 with the iron block. In the end, you end up with a highly collectible car that REALLY handles and accelerates incredibly! According to Steven Thornton at Shelby American Inc., this Mustang is one of only five Shelby Supercharged conversions ever completed by the factory in Las Vegas (and the only one completed in red). My intent was to keep the car in our family as an investment, but a potential business expansion seems the more responsible route to go at this point. So, I will just have to look for the car at Barrett-Jackson in 20 years for 10 times my current asking price! The buyer will receive both keys, books and manuals, the build records from Shelby American, the Shelby Certificate of Authenticity, and a custom made premium Shelby car cover and director’s chair (both with the embroidered CSM# in the material).
