Wow! What a beautiful car!This is a very unique 1979 280SL Euro version convertible. It is a 6 cylinder gasoline engine, with both a soft and hard top. This color gold was an uncommon manufacturers color. I understand I am the third owner - I've only had the car for about 18 months. The car was stored for 13 years in Florida, virtually unused. It has for all practical purposes no rust and is in very good condition. The interior is MB Tex, the soft top is black. The entire fuel system has been rebuilt, with the exception of the gas tank which was in rust free shape. Also the disc brakes and pads have been replaced, all the belts (less the A/C belt), the cooling system flushed, oil changed, and other basic maintenance items. VIN # 10704212005565 So that you know what you're getting, here are the issues I know of with the car; While the soft top fabric is in great shape the thread holding the windows in place has failed, we have the windows. The A/C does not work. The steering coupling needs replaced (a new one is included with the car). There is a lot of tread still on the tires. The electric antenna is broken. The odometer has stopped working, I believe it worked when I first got the car, but hasn't moved recently - it reads approximately 107,000 miles. The dash is NOT cracked, interior is slightly faded with only one small slit in drivers seat that you see in the photos, but in great shape. The wood around the shift console has hairline cracks but the rest is in great shape. I have the original Mercedes tool kit too! I know you'll enjoy the drive as well as the attention this car draws!
