hvtarter Store 1968 Dodge A100 Pickup Truck, Original California Car, Barn Find This Classic piece of Americana, was found holed up in a barn in Barry Creek, California. True to the nature of the good ol slant 6, a little fuel in the carb and she fired right up. The tank and lines were cleaned, and the carb, and brakes rebuilt, now she was ready for action. This truck was originally sold to a PG&E (Pacific Gas & Electric), and it was used as Shop Truck for more than 10 years. Abandoned in the mid 80s, the soon to be graphic artist for Chrysler Power Magazine, acquired the truck. It became his daily driver for nearly 15 years, making many many trips up and down the state to work on the magazine. The truck appeared in Chrysler Power, many times in the 90s, usually as a back ground prop, or as an extra, in addition to the full page spread in May of 1990. She now sports Cop wheel, Cop tires, and Cop hub caps, with nearly new 275/60/15s on them. The slant 6 is backed by the trusty old heavy duty 727, and 8 3/4, combination. Some of the down sides of the truck are the needle for the speedo is missing and the gas gauge only works occasionally. As you can see the rust in the under side pictures of the body (the whole is a factory drain for the battrey), has the typical, sparse California varity of rust. The body on this truck is a little ruff, with minor dings here and there, and the left, front, bed side looks like a sack of walnuts, otherwise the truck is now in overall good driving condition.
