Vehicle Detail

This is a rare opportunity to pick up a sure fire concourse candidate! This car was completely dismantled by the former owner with just that in mind. Consequently, nearly all major components hav been completely restored to like new quality. (That is also why the odometer is registering only 1332 miles having turned over shortly before the restoration.) This great Car features: A completly restored and newly painted body, which is all British steel. The white body color was researched and perfectly matched to samples from the original paint of Triumph 'Spa' White. The engine was completely overhauled with new cylinders, and pistons, a new 'mild performance' cam shaft[imported from England], a reground crankshaft along with new bearings, and a overhauled cylinder head with new valves, guides and springs. Also, a hard to find brand new six bladed fan has been installed to improve cooling. This is in affect a new engine! There is a rebuilt four speed all synchromesh transmission complete with overdrive. The frame has been stripped of rust and painted with 'POR 15'. The front end suspension has been rebuilt with new bushings and shocks. The stainless steel gas tank is brand new. There are new gas and brakes lines of stainless steel. There are new brake master and clutch as well as wheel cylinders and brake pads and shoes on the car. The interior of the car sports new wall and door panels, as well as new floor mats. There is a new glove box. The adjustable steering wheel is new. The car has an optional windscreen washer. The door handles and hood and trunk hinges are new. The car also comes an extra painted trunk lid complete with a mounted (hard to find) luggage rack for that occasional weekend trip to the country. A British Motor Industry HERITAGE TRUST certificate Number 91/3089 is included which details the origianal production and equipment information. A special note of interest on this car! As can be seen in the pictures, the engine block and head is red rather than the standard black paint that Trimuph used. Since finding this red paint overspray on the inside of various engine parts when the engine was overhauled, it is speculated that this particular engine was first destined for a Massey Furgesson (Canada) tractor instead of a TR3 and was placed in car as a way to use up inventory at the British automaker. True or not, it makes for a great conversation topic at Antique British Car shows!
