Vehicle Detail
Selling Another Classic European Sports CarI have been a classic car enthusiast for 9 years buying mostly Porsches Mercedes and BMW’s because in my opinion, nothing compares to German engineering. I used to own a dealership and have also helped several international buyers locate, purchase, and export these beautiful cars back to their place of origin for private collection therefore I accept and welcome bidders from around the world. Some vehicles I sell are my personal cars, others are ones that I am listing on behalf of others, but I always drive the cars and describe them to the best of my ability. Prior to bidding on any of my vehicles, please make sure to ask any questions as your bid is a binding contract stating that you accept the car in AS IS condition. All sales are final- I simply will not put up with anyone who is just shopping or wasting time. YOU MUST HAVE FUNDS READY TO MAKE FULL PAYMENT WITHIN 7 DAYS PER AUCTION TERMS IN ORDER TO BID. I know that most ebayers and classic car collectors are stand-up people but there are a few out there who simply should not be buying cars online. I do my best to describe the cars as they are in my opinion but in order to make sure that the cars are up to your standards it is your responsibility to inspect the car in person or have your assigned agent inspect the car, otherwise you are buying the car based on my opinion only- I am not a certified car inspector or mechanic- just an enthusiast that has been around a lot of classic cars so when you bid on my car you are indicating that you are satisfied with its condition and take responsibility for your decision to bid. That disclaimer being stated, here is the description I offer for this particular car: The high bidder will become the new owner of this beautiful 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Targa. This car appears to be a three owner car and it has obviously been well maintained throughout its life because included with the car are the original manuals with mainenance stamps from the dealer and and entire folder with original receipts for service, which between the two cover the FULL HISTORY of the car back to original purchase- and the Original Window Sticker is included showing all the factory options which include sport seats. It is not a perfect car, but is very nice and will be a very solid driver that you won’t be afraid to take out for regular drives, in fact you might just want it as your daily driver. The previous owner bought this car and drove it sparingly during his ownership, living in Utah the last 5 years or so but the car spent the majority of it's life in California and has never seen snow or salted roads. It has always been garaged which shows in the condidtion of the paint, trim, and rubber. I did ZERO restoration to the car- how you see it is EXACTLY how it looked coming out of the previous owner's garage. My overall assessment is that this car is in good condition and is a solid driver. It runs and drives very well and does not seem to have any major mechanical issues. This car has a NADA classic car value of between $17,600 and $28,700 and these cars continue to climb in value year over year as they become more desireable for collectors as all air cooled Porsched are. That being said this car will sell to the highest bidder- I believe that value is determined by what people are willing to pay for a car which is why I list cars at NO RESERVE. As mentioned this car is in good condition across the board- below is my very detailed an honest description of this car. Most people would just say “excellent condition” and not give all the details but I try to include everything, good and bad. Cosmetically this car is beautiful to look at inside and out and is a head turner around town. There really aren’t any major issues inside or out as it has very minor wear. In fact I’d say the exterior and interior are better than what one would expect compared to most Porsches I have seen from this era. The paint shines up and looks great- almost perfect with one blemish by the Carrera 4 lettering on the rear decklid and a couple spots on the plastic bumpers from minor dings- about as good as you can expect for an original 1990. The panel stickers are all there where they should be and I can't see any sign of collision damage or repaint at all in the metal panels. The gaps all look good and the rubber is still in good shape around the glass. It was a non smoker so there are no foul smells . All the pans are solid including the battery housing and front clip. The door panels, carpets, front and rear seats are in good condition- just a couple of spots on the carpets. There are no cracks in the dash and the targa top is in good shape- the only complaint I have is that the interior fabric trim of the targa top was removed so you just see the stainless steel. The cup wheels are in great shape and the tires have good tread. It would be very easy to get this car into perfect showroom condition cosmetically as there really isn't much to complain about.Mechanically the car seems solid. The tranny shifts fine, the motor pulls strong, and it handles nice and tight with the all wheel drive gripping like nothing else. The brakes are solid and the suspension feels good. The car drives straight without vibrations or pulling one way or another. The rear spolier raises and lowers as it should. The AC unit is there and running but in classic Porsche fashion it is not very cold and needs recharging. All of the gauges seem to work as they should and the power windows work very well. Long story short, I would feel comfortable jumping in this car today and driving it across the country. Again- not a perfect car as I'm sure that anyone can find things wrong with a car that is 22 years old but it is a car that is well kept and is really only at its half life as these motors are known to go for over 300k miles. This car shows thousands upon thousands in solid maintenance and updates that these models require including recent belt replacements (see pics) and should serve its new owner very well. As is the case with nearly every air cooled Porsche, it does weep a little bit of oil but the major leaks have been taken care of and if you have ever owned an air cooled Porsche you will know to use a drip pad in the garage for the occasional drips. In summary, this is a hard to find 1990 911 C4 that is a solid driver. I really like the attention this car gets from anyone who sees it. It would make a great classic sports car toy that still has a lot of life left in it- these motors and can handle many many more good years of aggressive and thrilling motoring. Feel free to ask questions prior to bidding. I can provide a reference for arranging very affordable transportation for this car to any state or port in the USA.
