This RX-7 is a great opportunity for an enthusiast or a tuner who has always wanted one of the greatest production sports cars ever made! It has taken months for me to force myself to sell the car I love. I feel like I'm giving my dog away. It is tough! This was my daily driver until recently and an absolute joy to drive. I can't tell you how many times I would be stopped at a light and have someone who knew what it was ask me if it was for sale or just give me a thumbs up. Those who don't know about cars would tell me it was awesome and ask me if it is new. So if you want this, buy it before I change my mind. The car runs great and is available for a test drive. The full story... in 2002 on my way to Cochella there was a small engine fire due to a fuel leak. The fire was contained to the engine compartment. I had the car towed to the local Mazda dealership. Because it was a dealer with dealer parts and labor costs, they estimated repairs to be more than KBB value of the car. My insurance company considered the car totalled. However, I consulted with the experts at Tri-Point Engineering and they assured me they could do a complete rebuild and make all the necessary repairs for less than what the insurance company was paying me for the car. With 86,000 miles on the car I was planning on getting a rebuild regardless. So I bought the car back from my insurance company with a salvaged title and got a complete rebuild and then some. Engine gasket set, seal, o-ring, bearing, house, belt, valve, boost chamber, air control valve, clutch kit, pressure regulator...a complete rebuild and many extras (3 Pages of itemized parts)...everything you can possibly think of was replaced new and installed by Tri-Point Engineering, the premier 3rd Gen technicians in the Country. I have the receipts and documentation...$14,764.98. Almost everything under the hood...completely brand new at 86,639 miles The reason I went through the lengthy story is explain the mileage and the title. The car has a SALVAGED TITLE but when I think of Salvaged title I think of a car that has been wrecked, flood, etc. That IS NOT the case and I have been using it as a reliable daily driver since 2002. The total mileage on the spedometer is 199,364. 115,725 miles since the rebuild. It has been almost exclusively maintained by Tri-Point Engineering www.tripointengineering.com. The primary reason I am selling the car is because it just barely did not pass California Smog in 2010 and I just don't have the time to get the repairs needed. So please note that the car is being sold as is and will be the responsibility of the buyer to make any repairs needed in order to pass your state's smog requirements and or register it. The car runs great and you're more than welcome to test drive it if you live in the area. As you can see by the pictures the car is in good shape. It has been babied and never raced. The engine is stock creating a blank canvas for a tuner.
