My 1978 Trans Am was ordered From Bob at Build A Bandit on April 11th 2010. For a selling price of $13,900.00 And taking down $3,500.00 in my own parts.Paid in full up front. I recived my car December 3 2011. And placed it in a heated garage till spring. Thae car looks great from 5 feet away and turns heads.Bob uses the car in his video.However when you get up close you see the flaws.I had to have the driver and passenger doors rehung since i could not open or shut them. The paint is spotted all over due to primer not dry enough when painted, scratched ,chipping off of paint on bumpers and other places lot's of orange peel and has rust on the drivers quarter panel. The decals look good for the most part except where they were priced together and covered and burnt with rubbing compound i replaced a few due to not sticking to the car. The car ran good but did not shift right i checked the cable looked correct and took it to a local speed shop where they found 2 bolts in the bottom of the transmission pan. They installed a B&M Trans pack and it will bark the tires into second. While at the shape the checked it over setting the carb up rebuilding the distributor the plate was upside down and need some lighter springs.When thet tried to set timing the balancer or timing tab is wrong it shows 86 BTDC. So they timed it to where they think it should be. Runs strong for a 2:56 rear gear car.This trip cost around a grand but the car runs like it should. The couple shops i took the car to for paint and body work all said it will run around $4,000.00. to complete the car replace the quarter fix the dents sand down and repaint and sticker the car. The parts i took down were all new Year One rims , gas tank and sending unit,Radio. Aluminum radiation,Flowmaster transverse muffler and Pipes 2.5 in. Spliters Comp Cam 274 duration cam kit with springs and lifters, Holly Street avenger 770 CFM, 2200 Stall Shorty headers ,headlight grills (but they never made it on the car) and some smaller parts.
