Vehicle Detail
If you're looking for a beautiful head-turner, this Ford Falcon is the car for you. The previous owner put over $20,000 into this vehicle, upgrading and restoring, taking it down to the bare metal and redoing it. Unfortunately his age and health forced him to give it up. But now you can pick up where he left off. The interior looks like it is original, and in awesome shape. The rebuilt engine only has about 600 miles on it. Smoke-free vehicle. Here are some of the things he had done to the vehicle: All doors have been disassembled and repaired with new seals around the doors, the windows, rear window and windshield. Added windshield washer squirter. Kenwood CD Stereo Radio with Remote. Automatic C4 transmission 289 engine year model 1965. Disc brakes on the front. Rebuilt engine, transmission. & rear end. New seat covers, and new floor carpet. The engine area has had a complete workover: radiator, tranny cooler, windshield squirters, high volume oil pump, edelbrock intake and edelbrock 4bbl carb, with a lifetime air filter. New Cragar SS wheels and new tires. Trunk is like new inside. Still has the original owner's manual, new spare tire, working jack. Many of the original parts receipts from the previous owner are still in the glovebox. Engine has synthetic oil (just 600 miles on it). Transmission fluid and radiator coolant also just 600 miles in. New battery (Feb 2012). Unopened new car cover still in box to protect the Falcon. So, if this car is so wonderful, why are we selling it? Because I bought it for my wife, and while she thinks it is stunningly beautiful, she has decided she simply does not like driving older vehicles. Leave it to a woman to change her mind! But that's okay, it just means someone else gets to enjoy it instead of her. Now, unlike SOME sellers, I'm also going to tell you a few things I think you'll want to fix on the vehicle. All the major work is done, but it will need some TLC and fine tuning to make it perfect. Here are issues an HONEST seller like me would want you to be aware of: The gas gauge is not 100% perfect; when it reads just over 1/4 tank it is almost empty. The previous owner replaced the tank, but did not hook up the opening to the gas cap assemly at the rear of the vehicle. Instead there is an additional gas cap assembly inside the trunk. Maybe you want to change that, or maybe you like having your gas protected from thieves with how expensive it is these days. If you don't drive the car for 3 weeks or more, the battery will be drained partially by the radio memory. So if you are going to let it sit, best to disconnect the battery. I'm sure there's another way to fix this. The reverse lights are disconnected. Previous owner said he couldn't get them to work right recently - they stay lit. So he simply unplugged them. Obviously a minor wiring issue. The horn is hooked to a button on the dash, as the horn button on the steering wheel is not hooked up. Emergency brake needs to be tightened. The wires under the dash should be wrapped better. My opinion, anyway. Previous owner's clear-coat job is not the greatest. The clear coat (NOT the paint) has bubbled in a few spots. I am including a photo of the area on the trunk where it is most noticable. One thing I HATE are reserve auctions. So we're not messing with any of that. We're going to open with a low starting bid and hope that you'll see what a beautiful piece of machinery this is and bid it up to its true value. So bid, bid fast, bid high, bid often...well, just bid. If you get it for a bargain price, so be it. I'm not interested in relisting this 10 times while buyers bid it to within $500 of some unknown reserve. So NO RESERVE! 100% clear title, registered in Texas and has passed inspection through October 2012 in this state. SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY! If you have questions, I'll do my best to answer, just email them to me at dougray30@yahoo.com but I am not a mechanic or anything so if it's technical, dumb it down for me. :-) Buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping. We will do whatever we can to make that process easy for you. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due via Paypal within 48 hours of the auction ending, and payment in full must be received before vehicle is released. Full payment is expected within 7 days. I've been an eBay member in good standing since the early 1990's, and I continue to receive positive feedback as a buyer AND as a seller. Good luck, and thanks for bidding! On May-07-12 at 12:23:35 PDT, seller added the following information:I reserve the right to end this auction early as we are also offering it elsewhere, but I would consider that unlikely since we already have bids; I'm likely to suggest to any potential buyer that they bid as well. As noted above, there is no warranty and no guarantees with this vehicle, and no returns. Serious bidders only! Remember to email questions. And WOW do you get a LOT of spam "offers" on a vehicle when you list one!
