Up for auction is a Black 1997 Ford Mustang Cobra. The vehicle is being sold "as is" and is also listed locally however, I will remove the local listing once the reserve has been met. The 1997 Ford Mustang being auctioned was originally purchased as a secondary automobile which like most others had big plans for the future and like most others never took off the ground. The mustang was driven locally for a couple of years and eventually made its way to the top of the driveway where it has sat for the past 2-3 years. Included with the sale is the original window ticket and the certificate that verifies the Mustang Cobra is #2072 of #6961. As for the known conditions of the Mustang: Tires - definitely needs front Brakes - not sure of condition but the pads probably have to be replaced Paint - reference pictures; tried to show where the paint had faded On May-03-12 at 15:28:52 PDT, seller added the following information: **************************************************************************************************************************************************I have had many questions regarding the actual condition of the vehicle so I am going to revise the listing so there are no surprises and the winning bidder knows what they are bidding on. As previously stated the Mustang Cobra up for auction is being sold “AS IS” so any bidder should bid with caution. I am selling the vehicle “AS IS” because I am unaware as to the actual condition of the vehicle and am looking to make this as smooth as a transaction as possible. I should have disclosed this information when first listed, but better late than never, first time here selling. In the current state the car does not run. DO NOT bid on the Mustang Cobra if you expect to drive the car away. DO NOT bid on the car if you are not prepared to do some work to the car. As to the actual condition of the car I do not want to give an answer as I am not a professional in this area. I also noted some issues related to the tires and brakes in the original post. The mention of each issue is my opinion and does not mean that there is or is not more work to be done. The original reserve I set was for a car that would need work and was well under book value. It was met early on and if not met I would have just held onto the car. If the current high bidder has an issue I completely understand a withdrawal or whatever happens. I just want to be clear so there are no surprises and any discrepancies’ can be taking care of and everyone can have a fair bid With all that being said, I can tell you the car ran till the day I parked it at the top of the driveway. It was a secondary vehicle that I planned on tinkering with until other things took precedent. Next thing you know the car has been sitting around for years, so I figure up put it up for auction. The car was not worked on while it sat there I did however clean it a couple time but even that diminished.
