Up for auction is a very nice 1963 Studebaker Lark VIII Regal with 58,178 original miles. The car is the original factory ‘Green Mist’ color as reflected on the build sheet. I believe the car is what Studebaker called a ‘custom trim level’. The Cruiser side trim was most likely a dealer install to enhance its sales appeal, or it may have been added later. Everything works on this car, even the radio. The original P-code Studebaker 289ci V8 engine runs great and the car drives nice. The carburetor was rebuilt about a year ago. The automatic transmission and all other mechanics work fine. It has a set of new Michelin radial tires with less than 500 miles on them. All the glass is good with no cracks or chips. The original dash, door panels, headliner and the rest of the interior is in very good condition and has not been redone. The seats are the factory upholstery in nice shape with no rips, tears or cracking. Unfortunately there are some water stains on the seats, due to leaking rubber seals, which occurred before I purchased the vehicle. Almost all of the weather-stripping has been replaced by the previous owner. To my knowledge the car has had one repaint done on it a few years ago. There is no cracking, blistering or other paint and body problems that I am aware of. There is no visible rust that I have seen. The paint is in very good shape. I have driven this car numerous times to work and around town in the last year and it has not had any problems. My work is a 70 mile round trip at interstate speeds. I have logged approximately 1200 trouble free miles on the car. I am selling this car because my wife has purchased a 1962 Hawk GT and I no longer have any where to keep it.
