Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is sharp, original 1987 Cutlass Supreme 442. Only 18,890 miles!!!! True survivor! My dad is a collector (he has 4 others sitting in the garage) and this is by far the best looking/lowest mileage one of them all. The reason for the sale is we recently found out my mom only has a few months left to live and if we can get this sold, I’ll have some money to sit on and I can get back to Iowa and spend some time with her. So not only will you be getting a great classic car, but it’s also for a good cause. The mileage has been carfax verified. The first owner put only 148 miles on it in 5 years if that tells you anything. 5k – 18k was put on by the previous owner who I bought the car from. Probably one of the most honest, straight up guys I’ve ever dealt with. He used this car as his daily driver for about a year, which at first bothered me, but after I thought about it some more, it was actually a blessing as he had already worked out any kinks the car had from sitting around (hoses, belts, seals…nothing major, just the stuff you’d rather not have to fix when buying a car). With that being said, the car is absolutely mechanically sound and I wouldn’t hesitate to drive this thing to the opposite corner of the country. Everything works on the car, radio, power antenna, power seat, power windows, cruise, interior lights, rear defrost, trunk popper and the ac blows cold. The only thing that doesn’t work is the wiper sprayers. Might be the motor, or they may just be clogged up. However the actual wipers work just fine. It's an easy fix, just something we never got around to doing. I took as many pictures as I could to give you a look from almost every angle. You can be the judge for yourself, but id give the interior a 9.7 out of 10 and the exterior an 8.6 out of 10. The interior is almost mint. The exterior has a few small scratches, but no major scratches, dings or dents. The car starts right up every time. A few pumps on the gas for a cold start and bout 3-5 seconds later it’s running. After it warms up, it fires up instantly. Just the same as the other 4 cars in our collection. Transmission shifts firm just as the others as well. Since I know this question is gonna come up, ill just go ahead and tell you what other cars we have: 1987 Cutlass Supreme 442 – 62,000 miles – Black T top 1987 Cutlass Supreme 442 – 40,000 miles – Burgundy hard top (like this one) 1986 Cutlass Supreme 442 – 44,000 miles – Grey T top 1983 Cutlass Hurst – 45,000 miles – Black Hard top I recently had the car at the Delmar car show April 1st…definitely attracted a lot of attention. Every time I ventured off to look at some of the other cars I’d come back and there was a crowd around it. You just don’t see too many of them left in this good of condition. We’re selling this car at no reserve in the hopes that the pictures and videos will do the talking. I know there are a few survivors that pop up on here from time to time, but very few are in this good of condition with this low of miles. The car is currently stored in Coronado California…just across the bridge from San Diego. If you live in the area, I have no problem letting you come by and take a look at her. The buyer needs to arrange shipping or use the links that ebay provides on this ad, or better yet, just fly in and drive it home. Would be a great cross-country road trip in a classic car. I’ve done it three times myself picking up cars for my dad. I am an honest ebayer/seller/buyer with all positive feedback. I’m not a stone-cold money-hungry dealer trying to pass off garbage as gold as you more often-than-not see on here. Some of these guys will tell you anything just to get the car off their lot. In fact, that’s why I’d rather you come see the car and drive it home. Actually see what you’re buying instead of the “wait and see what ends up in your driveway” game. Who wants to buy something from somebody they cant trust…especially a car? I have all receipts from the previous two owners and a carfax from last year. I am open to any reasonable offers (no trades) and am not opposed to ending the auction early. If you have any questions feel free to email me or just give me a call. My name is Rob 319.601.9425. I’d be happy to answer any specific questions you have in regards to the car. If you wanna talk shop/cars/442’s….call my Dad (Bob) 319.753.0775. If you catch him at the right time, he’ll talk your ear off. Below are a ton of pictures and a couple videos. The videos aren’t of the best quality, but I just wanted to show you the car running. NO RESERVE!!!! On Apr-25-12 at 19:05:17 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a note.... the reflectiveness/sunlight in the pictures is making the interior of the seats appear worn or dirty. Not the case. As I stated above, interior is near mint. On Apr-30-12 at 18:21:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Have had a lot of questions regarding the other 442's. They are not for sale. Thank you
