Gorgeous 280 SL Convertible with both tops - Private Seller. Engine Rebuilt by Mercedes Benz San Francisco about 15,000 miles ago (see receipt in pictures for rebuilt motor). Originally a California Car. With a new baby girl, I need to sell my other baby which I have owned since 2001. I have only put 15,000 miles on this car since I bough it, only driven in the summer in the Hamptons. Engine, transmission, brakes are in perfect shape. Tires, shocks, battery are brand new. Bid with confidence, I have 100% rating. Small repair to roof. Body is in great shape, it is not in car show condition (some very small rust), but I have never had anything but positive comments on it. You have to look to find flaws. Custom Matching Mats. This model 280 SL features a 2.8L single overhead cam inline six cylinder engine with four speed Auto transmission that has been maintained. Complete with a number of recent service records form the current owner that includes a New Engine (rebuilt), tires, battery, shocks and many others. The exterior body is very straight and the paint is free of any major defects (some small defects) besides a few minor scratches on the rear deck lid due to the hard top. The chrome work is in great shape (rear bumper has a small defect) and the interior looks brand new with no excessive wear or tears on any part of it. The W113 series Mercedes is a beautifully proportioned body that has stood the test of time and is one of the more elegant classics available for under $40,000.
