Nice Running 1996 Acura TL I've owned this car for almost a year now so I know all of its little quirks: 1) Air Conditioning doesn't work...don't try to fix it because you will end up wasting your money. 2) Front passenger ball joint makes a noise...I bought the entire assembly and it will come with the car. 3) Occasionally, when the motor was hot the ignition would take a few times to engage. I just had it looked at last weekend and they said it was because the starter cable was loose and corroded. The mechanic cleaned it and tightened it down. 4) Emissions/Check Engine light is always on...always been like that. 5) Five cosmetic issues shown in the pictures...oxidation in two areas, missing heat vents, a kiss on the front windshield pillar and a small tear on the dash board. ACTUALLY, IN THE LAST WEEK THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STOPPED COMING ON.On Apr-08-12 at 18:37:09 PDT, seller added the following information: AN ANSWER TO ANOTHER BIDDER'S QUESTIONS Dear ***, it shifts fine. you can hear a ticking on the front driver side and more when you are turning to the right. i'm pretty sure it is the ball joint and i bought an assembly that will come with the car, but i didn't put it in because i am selling it...do you have a mini van? no lean and no pull when driving. no leaking, but i put about two quarts of oil in between changes...it is due for another oil change. i didn't have to do anything because of the title...took it to the title bureau and they transferred it...only found out when ebay told me that it was a rebuilt car title. drives fine on the highway...taken my wife several times to detroit airport although it has just been a commuter car for me on local roads. a mechanic owned it before me and he had records that the belts were changed in '07...don't know about the water pump...it would make a very good commuter car...that is what i used if for for the last year. other than the ac...all power items work. - thelonious_monkeys From: *** To: thelonious_monkeys Subject: Vehicle condition: *** sent a message about Acura : TL #120887640838 Sent Date: Apr-08-12 18:14:30 PDT Dear thelonious_monkeys, does it shift smooth or hard? and ticks? so all it needs to be a daily driver is a ball joint? does the tire lean in ? im not worried about a/c... does it leak anything? or use any oil or coolant between oil changes? does the salvage title mean ill have to have it inspected? does it drive ok on the highway because id have to drive it over an hour home? also you may not know but has the timing belt and water pump ever been changed ? i would appreciate it if you didnt post this on the auction unless no one can see my buyer name thankyou - ***
