I have my 1985 mercedes 300d "Veggi Car". It has a professionally installed 2 tank "greasecar" system installed. (These are around $1200.00) If you don't know about "greasecar systems look it up on the internet on their site, they're the best. Car starts on diesel, once the antifreeze lines heat up the oil in the 2nd tank enough to burn, the computer switches it over to the 2nd tank and Boom! you're driving on fryer oil for free! When you are ready to shut the car off, you simply push a flush button, the car switches back to diesel for 30 seconds and cleans all the lines out, and you're ready for the next time! It's quite simple to drive. The oil has to get to 70 degrees, so in the summer, sometimes i don't even get out of the driveway before i'm on fryer oil. The car first, it's 27 years old, it is in fair condition. The car has a crack in the trap oxidizor,what a trap oxidizor is, is a 2nd catalic converter, kinda like a muffler on it. It also doesn't go into overdrive unless you put it in neutral and back into drive. I'm told there is a a vaccum line to the tranny that cause this and needs replaced. once it shifts into overdrive, it runs perfect, so it does need tinkered with, or just drive it that way like i do. It doesn't really bother me to have the car a little loud or putting it in neutral and back into drive to get it into overdrive so i just drive it that way. I guess you could also drive it in the first 3 gears, you'll just use up more free frywer oil than usual! I am also offering all of the already filtered fryer oil that i have and the filtering systems and filters. at the moment i believe i have around 40 gallons ready to go!! along with this i have 2, 50 gallon oil drum tanks, an electric oil pump, pre fiter, and the absolute gravity filters. THESES ARE ALL INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE CAR OF YOU WOULD LIKE! What doesn't go i'll re auction. This is an absoulte auction, someone will own this car!! On Mar-25-12 at 14:00:39 PDT, seller added the following information: Update: I checked today and I have 64 gallons of already filtered fryer oil and approximately 124 gallons of unfiltered oil that will come with the car if the buyer would like. At the current price of diesel, that would be worth $800.00 byu itself! The interior of the car is in reasonably good shape for the year. the leather shows wear but there are no rips, the only ruff spot is inbetween the front seats where the power window switches are. Some of the wood trim has chipped off. The back seats are excellent. Underneath very good shape, i believe no rust. The person that owner the car before me garaged it, and i never drove it in the winter because it is rear wheel drive and i live in pa. there are a couple of small bubbles but i don't believe nothing major. I ordered new glow plugs for it, i believe it has a bad one. I should have those installed by the time the car is picked up by the winning bidder.
