Vehicle Detail
I am selling my 1972 Dodge Demon Race Car. I purchased it with the intention of adding enough things such as headlights, turn signals, and windshield wipers, so that I could street drive it and be way far ahead on the time it would take to tub and rollbar a stock car. The rear of the car has been mini tubbed, Which means the springs have been moved into the frame and the wheel tubs have been moved up against the frame rails, it had a B body Dana when I got it add even though they had raced it for years that way, it was really too wide for an a body. The car now has a ford nine inch in it with 28 spline axles, but with no center section, I had the rear end in another a body and the car was going 11.68 in the quarter mile, all I did was take the housing to the Seattle area rear end guru Bill Scribner, and after spending a little over a thousand dollars on having him make sure the rear end was straight the car went 11.45 with no other changes. When I put the rear end in the car it required the next size up on u bolts, which I did not have the car is a roller and safe for transport, but before drag racing it, you will need to replace the inner u bolts on the rear end. The nice thing is that the rear end is nice and narrow and will allow you to get a really big set of tires under the car. The car has a 1973 and up spool mount K frame, so that you can put a 360 or 440 in it with spool mounts from your local wrecking yard. It is manual steering with a race car column that has a quick release steering wheel to make it easier to get in or out past the roll bar, It has the factory small bolt pattern disc brakes up front with big bolt pattern in the rear. The front sheet metal has been changed out to fiberglass, including fenders, hood and front bumper, the front vallance is steel giving some strength without being too heavy. The car has lots of race car pieces stiil on it like, line lock, coolant recovery tank, frame connectors, drive shaft loop, truck mount battery, battery cut off switch, external charging lugs, fuel cell, holley blue pump, with aluminum fuel system, aluminum carb pan to seal the hood scoop to the engine. The car also comes with the 727 dana 60 drive shaft, I am not sure if it will work with the nine inch rear, but it is included. The car has some rust around the rear wheel wells, which shows up really well in the pictures. The car comes with a title, extra dash with vin code attached, fender tag, and radiator core support section that has vin stamped in it, that came from a different car. I used the title from this car to scrap the car I have the title and vin from. The title from this race car was branded " not eligable for highway use " When I tried to tab it for street driving they said it was listed as a race car, so this title and vin was going to be my fix for street driving it, if you are going to race the car you could hang the title on the wall for display. The car also comes with two full wiring harnesses.
