Vehicle Detail
Great piece of history here, and FAST! And centrally located in Oklahoma ... so shipping to anywhere in the states should be very reasonable. It has about $600 invested in the motor. It gets you the power without sacrificing the original honda case, parts, and styling. The transmission has been swapped out for a four speed certrifugal clutch from the perenniel classic honda bike web site, dratv.com. This isn't a museum quality bike, but it is a working classic that gets a LOT Of head turns and attention and it's FAST. I bought this bike along with a large lot of Trail 70 parts and have only done minor things to it. The previous owner had rebuilt about 15 of these bikes and did the motor. It has new bearings, seals, timing chain/sprockets/rollers, shift drum, 4 speed transmission gears, ignition stator, aluminum 88cc cylinder, piston/rings, race head with bigger valves, race camshaft, heavy duty clutch steels/fibers/springs, HV oil pump, and of course gaskets. It has a brand new OEM Yausa battery on 3/17, new OEM exhaust, good tires, lots of other new stuff. While this is my first bike to sell through eBay, I recently sold two unrestored CL70s to (probably) the highest volume seller of aftermarket vintage Honda parts and he was very pleased with his purchase He is based and Florida and shipping two bikes only cost him $400. The day he received the bikes "I got the bike in good condition thank" and a week later after he polished them up (I sold them, at buyer's request, without cleaning them up) "l cleaned the cl70 i like them very much thank you alot" Some things to look for in the pictures/video. Some of these are VERY minor, so checking out the picture will key you into the condition. Video of me starting the bike and a walkaround: http://youtu.be/4YCjxMn4Td8 Brief video of being ridden: http://youtu.be/QVzerBfbcgo Scratch on clutch cover. I have some extra covers. so you don't want to fix yourself, I can paint another one and install it on this bike for a small fee. Taillight bracket has a crack one one side. Occassional rattling from muffler cover (missing the jean-like fabric wrap that separates the bracket from the exhaust), I show this area at the end of the video. The handlebars have scratching. That is all I can think of. Since the bike works well and looks pretty good, I didn't consider replacing these items. Want to see the bike before bidding? We can make arrangements for serious bidders to see it in action. Registration: Titles for Oklahoma dirtbikes manufactured before 2005 are relatively easy to get. I will provide buyer a bill of sale. If buyer desires titling the bike, I can direct him to the resources to do so. I don't pursue titles on dirtbikes that I repair because it is an added costs and many states don't require them! Shipping: I am happy to work with you on shipping the item. If you are researching quotes, my zip code is 74114, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Payment: $300 deposit within 48 hours of auction end via paypal. Remainder by money order, cashier's check, etc. upon pickup. I am pretty flexible, so happy to work out details after the auction. If you are a bidder with zero feedback, please remember that bids are binding. And if you care ... About me: I am an eBayer with 100 percent positive feedback over the past ten years. I am a physical therapy student who restores bikes in my free time to help offset tuition and get my hands dirty. Thanks for looking! On Mar-19-12 at 05:54:46 PDT, seller added the following information:Other thoughts: Bike runs well. I'd said 8/10 because you could probably get better performance out of removing muffler diffuser or changing to a non-stock muffler (and tuning carb to that). OEM muffler is in stock form because I think most people like the traditional look (myself included) and the throaty, but not scare small children and pets, sound that it has in stock form. It DOES have a battery, horn works, etc. The brand new Yausa was getting it's initial charge when I snapped the photo. If you are coming to pick it up (or have room on a pallet), I will offer FOR FREE the trail 70 frame, forks, and swingarm I have listed in another auction if you want it. The rear swingarm, along with a couple other parts, should be salvageable.
