Vehicle Detail

Rare rare rare 1953 2 door Plymouth Cranbrook. 51 and 52 Cranbrooks had a split front window 53's didn't This is a 1953 Plymouth Cranbrook Coupe Pro-Street Show Car. There were ONLY 18,135 Cranbrook Coupes made by Plymouth, so it is a very RARE car. In 1953 we were at war with Korea, so President Truman was conserving steel for the war effort, thus car productions were cut drastically. This beautiful Plymouth was RESTORED 'frame off/ground up' with over 3 years of PROFESSIONAL workmanship using only the best parts available. It is ALL MOPAR and can be driven on 'pump gas.' Absolutely NO RUST-. The undercarriage is EXTREMELY CLEAN. •3 year Off Frame/Ground Up Restoration Project. •ALL Steel Body that is rust free •Rebuilt 383 CID Plymouth Engine; Steel Crank, 9.5.1 Compression Engine. •Rear-end is a Narrowed 8 ¾ Sure Grip with 3:91 Ratio. •Totally Chromed & Polished Aluminum Engine w/Braided Cables. • Huge Aluminum Radiator. •MOPAR Performance Hydraulic Camshaft. •Jet Hot Aluminum Coated Hooker Competition Headers. •Powder Coated Aluminum Coated Mopar Performance 2-4 Barrel Tunnel Ram Intake with 2- 450 Holley Carburetors. •Flowmaster Duel Exhaust with Custom Tail Pipe Tips. •Mopar Performance Painted Valve Covers. •MSD 6A Ignition. •Rebuilt 727 TorqueFlite Transmission. •2500 Stall Converter •Turbo Action CHEETAH manual/automatic Valve Body •Kick Down Kit Painless Wiring & Fuse Box. •Custom Battery Box (located in trunk) •Power Steering. •Disc Brakes. •Vintage built in Air Conditioner & HOT Heater. Front Tires: 26x7.50x15 Mickey Thompson. •WELD Aluminum Racing Wheels. Deep Aluminum Trans Pan Taylor Race wires This car was originally built by Southern Hot Rods in Martinez Ga. and sold to a gentleman from Ohio after a couple years decided to "personlize it" he stripped the interior and trunk and had the car painted black. Th paint was not the quality he had hoped for so he parked the car for several years. I have the interior pieces minus carpet and headliner. That's when I come in. I bought it last year and spent a lot of time money and effort to make it run right. Engine was gone over and tuned, new plugs wires distributor cap etc. I fixed a couple exhaust leaks as well as a valve cover gasket leak. New K&N filters, new braided heater hoses new fuel system, tranny was inspected and a deep pan installed. All fluids are new and synthetic New calipers and brake pads as well as stainless braided hoses.. Carbs don't have chokes but once warmed up this car runs awesome. nice cam lope great exhaust sound. As it sits it's an absolute BLAST to drive. stops straight no issues at all. Car can be driven as I said it runs awesome and stops perfectly. Fuel economy is another issue, remember it's a 383 with dul carbs, I would trailer it home. I can deliver a reasonable distance for a fee. The reason I am selling is I wanted a project and got it, I have done what I can do the rest is just time related, and I just do NOT have time. My weekly work schedule is ridiculous I am out of town 2-3 days a week and Drag Race season is upon us. My wife and I are at the track 2-3 weekends a month. I won't let the car sit for monthsw hen someone could be enjoying it. Feel free to contact me through eBay's email I will provide contact info to discuss the car . Frame wise it's solid and rust free. It's a full frame car with custom floors all solid. Camaro front subframe. Brakes are excellent. Master cylinder is under the car tucked away ,The engine bay is awesome, Engine runs excellent maybe a little rich, it might need to be jetted down a size or just tuned. Having said that to me it runs great sounds awesome. Trans shifts great, has a lot of stall, seller told me it was 2500 might be higher. The interior well it's solid, just spartan. It has Rattle Trap sound deadener and heat shield down. The doors have been sprayed with sound deadener. No headliner or carpet. But everything else is there to put it back together. Might need cleaning. It's grey tweed. The body is solid solid solid, NO rust. It was painted black an the quality of the paint is .. well it's not great. It's bubbled in a couple spots not from rust. The paint is off in a couple contact points. Depending on your viion of the car the paint could stay the way it is, or if your goal is an all out show car it'll need paint. I have the stereo that came with it, it more or less sucks. it's dated. I was going to fill the hole, it's not like I was going to go on long drives in it. who needs a radio was my thought. Trunk looks good solid floors covered by rattle trap sound deadener, fuel cell and aluminum battery box are cool. Braided fuel line electric fuel pump racing Moroso filter too cool. Drop down hide away lisence holder is a very cool feature. I have a link to the web site created by the original builder showing the car in all it's former and potentially future glory. Again tis car can go so many ways it's silly. I am not a Rat Rod fan. I like them just not for me. I believe the rarity of this car combined with it's awesome 383 dual 4's and big old fat tires makes it one of a kind.On Mar-20-12 at 19:51:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Payment: I'd like $500.00 down within 24 hours, eBay says 48 but won't let me enter 24. I'd like payment and the car picked up within 7 days. If you can't meet those requirements don't bid. In all seriousness I see this as an $11,500 to $12,000 car as it sits, my reserve is waaaay lower. The description of the car at the top is actually taken from the original builders literature on the car, I made appropriate changes. On Mar-23-12 at 13:22:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Short video of the car starting and at idle. http://youtu.be/OZpYbTzBM5I
