Vehicle Detail
Hi you are bidding on a 70 Chevelle Malibu. This car has the appearance of a Super Sport but it is not. Just want to get that out of the way. The car runs and drives well. You truly can drive this car home. The engine is a 327. The previous owner stated that he had it professionally rebuilt and has not put that many miles on it. The trans was rebuilt at this time also. This was around 8 years ago that this work was done. The engine has a very mild cam just enough to barely hear it at idle and the trans is stock. This makes the car very drivable. After it sits a few days you have to pump the carb but if it has been running just a turn of the key will start it and it has a strong idle. The rear end is a 10 bolt with stock gears. The car is not what I would call fast even tho the previous owner did. This is a car you could let your son drive to high school and get a ton of looks but not be afraid it is to much for him. The paint was done the same time as the drivetrain and it shows its age. Has several chips and imperfections as well as some bubbling behind the tires. It is a classic 10 10 paint job. At 10 feet and 10 mph it looks great, but it has flaws. Driver quality- nice enough you may not wish to repaint (maybe just touch up) if your just going to drive but not show it. Interior is nice but not perfect, carpet is new, seat covers original as well as the door panels-good shape but not perfect. Dash is nice. Nice stereo system with amp and 4 speakers in back. Everything seams to work except key buzzer and backup lights. Also I Have a 72 396 complete- minus carb. $800 additional to the final price. Yes you can come drive the car. I live 1 hour north of Indy. delivery maybe available at a $1.00 a loaded mile up to 250 miles 1 way. But you really can drive this car home. Clear title in my name. 765 206 0350 Steve On Mar-11-12 at 17:53:26 PDT, seller added the following information: Hi hope this answers alot of questions- top looks good doesnot apear to have any rust under it. Never had it outside dont know if the windows leak-but i dont think so. All the windows go up and down as they should. Doors shut nice. They are aftermarket-pretty sure. Quarters have patches as well as bottom of fenders. The paint is about 8 years old. The bumpers and rear bumper pad was new at that time. As well as the ss emblems and weatherstrip kit. Stereo sounds good-to loud. Faceplate tips down to put cd in. Radio works. As well as the gas gauge-dome light(need lens) heater works, dash lights, trun signals, brake lights. Trunk pan was replaced with large panel. You can see were they welded it in under the mat. Tires are in good shape-rears are almost new. 295 50 15. white letters dont match. Rides good for an old car. Water pump altenator and brackets are chrome as well as the oil pan. If you paid 20k for the car you would be disappointed but I think more than happy for the list price. Look at some of the other 70 chevelles on ebay people are asking 5 and 6 k for that are in bad shape with no motors ect. reserve is under 10K, thats all I will say about that. It 's a 1970 Chevelle!!!! On Mar-11-12 at 17:56:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Dont like the wheels and tires I will buy them back. I also have a set of Weld star rims we could swap or something, just giving you options.
