The Super Sport model was dropped in 1973, but it was
replaced with the stylish Type LT model. The Type LT model was offered with a quieter and better appointed interior, full instrumentation, Rally-style wheels, variable-ratio steering, sport mirrors, and hidden windshield wipers among other upgrades.
Our Camaro was acquired in 2007 and the engine was just recently serviced. The car is running well and can comfortably be driven on the street.
The previous owner made numerous modifications to the car:
- The 350 cubic inch V-8 engine has a Holley Commander 950 MPFI fuel injection system operating at 42 pounds per hour. An electronic ignition, MSD 6 amp box and 100 amp alternator was installed. There is a dash mounted air / fuel ratio display
- There are exhaust headers flowing through 2.5 inch exhaust pipes and X pipe into flow master mufflers exiting in dual tips
- The power gets transmitted through a Built TH400 automatic transmission with 2800 stall converter and a 3.73:1 posi rear end
The Dunlop tires are mounted on aftermarket Center Line wheels. Stopping is from power front disc brakes and drum rears.
There is an aftermarket AM FM CD player in the dash.
The car has rust bubbling through the paint on the nose,passenger fender, passenger door edge and rear quarter near the spoiler. The paint is poor on the roof and trunk lid. There is surface rust on the underside but no holes in the floor or trunk. Overall, the car would benefit from a repainting.
