Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 1985 Chevy Kodiak C70 flatbed truck, with a Cat 3208 V8 diesel, and a 5-speed manual transmission with a 2-speed rear end (for a total of 10 forward gears). Odometer can only show 5 digits, and shows 24,690. Based on age of vehicle and condition, as well as the fact that I have put very few miles on it in the four years I've owned it, and the previous owner also stated that he used the truck infrequently, I am guessing 224,690 miles. The truck has a twelve-foot steel flatbed. Has hydraulic brakes, with years of life left on the pads (approximately 60-80% pad material remaining). Hydraulic brake booster replaced about 8000 miles ago. Has 22.5" rims and tires, with all tires in good shape (at least 50% tread remaining on rears, probably 60-70% tread remaining on fronts). Has a relatively new clutch and throwout bearing and resurfaced flywheel (all done about 4000 miles ago). Cat diesel engine is VERY reliable in my experience (which is to say that I have never had a single problem with it.) Transmission can be a little hard to shift into 2nd and 3rd, but once you get the hang of it it's no sweat. 2 speed rear differential also takes some getting used to, but works fine. Interior is OK; driver's seat is pretty nice with no tears, passenger seat is also pretty nice with no tears, dashboard is pretty cracked. All lights work as they should. Battery is high quality (NAPA), about 2 years old. Truck is fitted with an Atlas folding knuckle boom crane. This is a nice crane, and pretty much why I bought the truck. The pictures tell the story of the crane, but just to spell it out: the boom has two extensions, there is a third extension which you can manually insert (and which stows under the bed, accessible from the rear of the truck), and it has a hydraulic winch. The outriggers pull out manually. The crane can rotate over 360 degrees and can work over the cab, if need be. There is a minor leak in the boom cylinder which becomes noticeable if you operate the boom for more than about 10 minutes or so. There is also some very minor leaking coming from somewhere in the base of the crane (probably the rotate) which causes it to drip a little onto the ground after being used. These leaks never bothered me too much, or stopped me from using the crane. It also has all new hoses (about 2 years old) which can be seen in one of the pictures. Max capacity is 8045 lbs at 6' 8" reach, and 1389 lbs at 25' 9". The reserve on the truck is set at $1000 less than I paid for it about 4 years ago, even though it is arguably in better shape now than it was then (new tires, clutch, battery, hoses, etc) Please ask any questions you might have, I am happy to answer. The reason I am selling it is because I got another truck with a larger bed. The truck is located in 87517. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere in the country. Thanks On Mar-11-12 at 21:17:28 PDT, seller added the following information: A few more things to note regarding the truck- I will include a full set of stake-sides (fences, gates) with the truck. I have added a picture of them. They are black on the outside, red on the inside (you are looking at the insides of them in the picture). The weather was dreary and overcast the other day when I took the main pictures, but it was really nice today... so I took some more pictures! I have posted them as well. I have also advertised to truck on Craigslist, so it's subject to prior sale. The reserve on here is lower than the Craigslist asking price. Thanks!
