Vehicle Detail
Hello, I have a 1972 GMC SPRINT for sale. This is the sister car to the Chevy El Camino. There were roughly 6500 Sprints built in '72. (It is basically a El Camino that GMC took off the line & put their own badging on.) This is one of 689 built with the 350 ci engine, 4 barrel carb, & 350 automatic transmission. The reasons I'm seeling the truck is: (1) I don't drive it any more(has been sitting for a couple of years) & (2) I recently lost my job. The engine was rebuilt about 10-12 years ago & has 25,000-30,000 miles on it since the rebuild. I don't know if the transmission was rebuilt or not, but it does shift smoothly. It is a non-posi rear end. There is an Edelbrock carb on it that will either need to be rebuilt or replaced. The truck will run with the current carb on it, just not real well. The trans has stared to leak so the front trans seal will need to be replaced also. The interior is in real good shape. The truck has a bench seat, factory tach gauge cluster, & air conditioning. The tach in the gauge cluster does not currently work, but the other gauges I believe still do. The air conditioner box on the fire wall & some of the fittings are still on the truck, but the compressor & brackets are not. You would need to get those to hook the AC back up. The paint is in good shape. There are some chips next to the bed rail moldings due to it having a hard tanoeu cover rubbing on it. The rear well moldings need to be replaced because the rear tires are to wide & have rubbed & bent parts of the moldings. I do have (2) new moldings still in the packages to put on that will come with the truck. I also have some extra bed moldings, lens, Edelbrock carb, & other stuff to go with the truck, if you want it. That stuff will have to be shipped separately though. The tires still have about 70-80% of tread left. Like I said though, the rear tires sidewall have been chewed up alittle from rubbing the wheelwells. I'm asking $8000 or best offer. If you have any more questions, please call me at (303) 828-6497. Please leave a message if I don't answer & I will call you back as soon as I can. Now for the boring stuff. Buyer is reasonsible for shipping. Please don't bid or make an offer if you are not serious about buying it. I will need a $500 non-refundable down payment at the end of the auction via paypal. The rest of the money can be paid in cash (if in person) or by cashier's check. Or if you contact me, we can make other arangements for payment. I will not do payments, so don't even ask, sorry. This truck is being sold locally so I will end this auction early if it is sold. Again if you have any questions, please contact me. Thanks for looking. 29 Jan 12-I've added a couple of pictures of the frame, since I have had a couple of request for them. Also, there is a couple of small spots of rust bubbling back through the paint on both lower sections of the front fenders. The last (4) pictures show the frame & the spots on the lower front fenders. If you have any more questions, please contact me. Again, Thanks for looking.
