Vehicle Detail
For sale is a 2006 VW Jetta TDI in fantastic condition. I had a fresh engine installed 5 months ago that only had 76,100 miles on it - I have all the paperwork and receipts for this and any other service work I've done on the vehicle along with some history from the previous owner. It is in remarkable condition - people who ride in this car can't believe it's age and the mileage on the clock - they think it's much newer! It has clearly been a freeway warrior and with it's new low miles engine it can continue on for hundreds of thousands of miles yet! I bought it in Florida last year where I think it had been for all its life and it must have been garaged to be in the condition it is. Being from Florida there was no rust at all and since being here with me in Georgia I've garaged it 100% of the time and Georgia doesn't salt the roads in the winter here either so no rust! If you've never driven one of these cars it's quite a joy. Most people think Diesel is smokey, loud and not very good but the 1.9TDI motor in this car is a gem. No smoking on startup, the DSG transmission really suits the turbocharged nature of the diesel engine. Anyone can drive this car but if you take time to master the art of the DSG transmission and the turbo you can make it really fly! The DSG is a nice touch in this car - it operates much more like a manual transmission than a regular automatic. There is no clutch pedal of course, and it operates just like a regular automatic - just stick it in drive and you're away. I'm real referring to the gear-change feeling, it has much more of a positive feel to it than a regular automatic. You have D for drive mode, S for sport mode and then you can even put it in M for manual mode where you can change the gears yourself. When in M mode the DSG transmission will blip the throttle when downshifting - all in a diesel! All this makes for a great package that handles well and is not sluggish at all. In fact once you've mastered the turbo and DSG you can get off the lights quite a lot quicker than most other car drivers expect :-) Then there's the fuel economy . . . . I regularly get between 500 and 600 miles to a tank with this car. More like 550+ now the newer engine has been installed! This is unbelievable to most people - they'll naturally assume that the car must be uncomfortable, loud, smokey and all those other negative misconceived diesel thoughts. I have run the car on Biodiesel a few times and couldn't tell the difference at all - same power, same MPG - ok a different smell but not unpleasant by any means. The paint is in great shape - I tried to get some pictures of how straight the lines are and how deep the shine is on this car. There are a few stone chips as you'd imagine with a freeway warrior like this. Whoever had it before me must have lugged stuff in and out of the trunk regularly as there are a few scuff marks on the top of the bumper where the trunk lid meets - nothing major (I'm trying to write as detailed description as possible). There is no body damage whatsoever and it doesn't look like the car has ever been in any kind of accident. This car also has the Xenon headlamps which makes a really nice difference to night driving - you can see much better! This one has the nice alloy wheels on it - they are in great shape with no major curb rash. Tires are 60% on the rear and 40% on the front. The interior is, well, almost perfect. There is a 6 disk in-dash CD changer which I've added a iPod/aux port to - this runs off the satellite radio feed and is a full digital signal, not a radio frequency one. The sound out of the stereo is really very good - nice deep bass, midrange and high notes. ABS/traction control is standard but you can turn it off with a button on the dash. Power windows and mirrors and the tan leatherette seats are really comfortable too. A great car for long journeys as it's comfortable and costs a lot less than most vehicles would in fuel. The back seats are comfortable, there is a decent amount of legroom and there is A/C back there too. This car also has a GTI steering wheel which is a very nice addition. I had it installed a month or so ago - I bought it from Europe and had it shipped over. I think the standard wheel in these cars lets the interior down a bit so I put this one in and it's very comfortable and somehow makes the whole package feel more sporty. The A/C and heating systems all work perfectly. They've had a bit of a workout recently as the weather here in ATL can't seem to make it's mind up. Heating on one day and A/C on the next - these systems all work just fine. The mechanics of the car are totally sound. The new engine cost me over $4000 with a new DSG dual clutch and to install it was another $2000 so this car has pretty much had it's drivetrain renewed. You can be confident that it will last for a very long time. The brakes are good, the suspension is good and rides perfectly, everything electrical works on the car as it should - there are no warning lights on the dash. I've ONLY used VW oil and parts for the oil changes. I've not always had the oil changed at a dealer but I have purchase my own oil and filters from the boraparts website and made the shop use that instead of the cheap oils they might usually use. I'm fussy about my cars and I like to look after them well after buying them from someone who I think has done so too. I think I've been very fair on the pricing but I have enabled the "offer' button so please let me know what you're thinking. In terms of shipping the car I have used the movecars website and the uship website before to move a car from one place to another and both gave good service and good pricing. I'll be happy to help if you want to ship the car anywhere. I require a $500 immediate part-payment via Paypal please and the rest within 7 days of the auction close. My name is on the GA title here and there is no liens listed so this transaction should be very simple. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I've missed anything out.
