Vehicle Detail

This is a no reserve auction for a 1937 Buick Special Dual Sidemount Business Coupe. This is a California car built in Southgate California. The car was owned by a man here in Northern California since 10/2/1958. The car has been in a garage for the last 50 years. The car had all the work done on it in the 1960's. The body was lifted off the frame and the frame was redone and painted. The motor had dual carbs installed, a valve job and some chrome work done, copper nickel exhast was made and installed. I do have some paper work for the work that was done. The floor of the body was painted black. The car was recently taken out of the garage and the inside was carefully vaccumed. The body was wiped down, polished and windows cleaned. The rest of the car was left as found. The car has woodgrained dash and window mouldings and a glove box clock. We also have the radio.I have more pictures I can email if needed of the other parts. I could only put 24 pictures on this listing. The car has 91,895 original miles. The tires are bad but the tubes are holding air. There are two wheels and hubcaps for the sidemounts and a spare wheel and tire. The car steers and rolls no problem. I have the pinkslip. The parts I know missing are the running boards and the rear bumper. Car is located in American Canyon California 94503 (35 miles north of San Francisco). For more information call or text Rob at 619-666-3255. If you are in the area I can arrange for you to view the car. The car is located in an area where a transporter can easily access to pick it up if your going to have it shipped. Also have a set of 4 wide whitewall tires that go with the car. Tires are not brand new but are in good condition. The frame number located on the metal plate on the outside of the passenger side of the frame says "Buick C3125907" on it. The car was built in Southgate California which is 12 miles south of Los Angeles. South Gate Assembly was a General Motors automobile plant located in the Los Angeles suburb of South Gate, California. It opened in 1936[1] to build B-O-P (Buick-Olds-Pontiac) cars for sale on the west coast.[2] Managed by the Pontiac division, it was the first GM facility west of the Mississippi River.[3] It was the first GM plant to build multiple car lines[1], resulting from a Depression-spawned move to cut production costs by sharing components and manufacturing.[2] South Gate was the second of several B-O-P "branch" assembly plants (the first being the Buick-operated Linden plant), part of GM's strategy to have production facilities in as many places as possible. These "branch" plants would build cars for distribution to a specific region.[2] I have had a bunch of e-mails and calls about the car not being together. So today I put it all back together so people can get a better idea of what it is. Thank you to all of you that have given me information and suggestions I really appreciate it. I also want to thank the 37-38 Buick website and the Pre-War Buick website. If you havent been to them you really need to check them out. Thanks again for everyones help. Just got an e-mail with the following information: DID YOU KNOW THAT IS THE WRONG MOTOR? IT HAS TO BE 49 OR NEWER. THE SQUARE BOSS BEHIND THE GENERATOR ON THE BLOCK WITH THE 4 BOLTS AND ONE ON PASSANGER SIDE WITHTHE STRANGE COIL BOLTED WERE FOR THE SIDE MOTOR MOUNTS, A NEW DESIGN STARTING IN 49.
