Vehicle Detail
I am putting my 92 Dodge W350 up for sale. I purchased this truck 2 years ago in New Mexico. At the time I was living in Nebraska and wanted a truck to pull my 24' enclosed trailer on our move to Oregon. At the time I got the truck the transmission would not hold in gear if you let off the throttle. When I got it home ( a long drive) I had Affordable Transmission in Kearney Nebraska replace the bearings and syncros in the GTRAG transmission. It was also had broken 4 wheel drive linkage so we modified the shift rails in the NP205 and made it a twin stick. I then re-intalled it all with a South Bend 13" clutch/flywheel. I used rotella syn 5w40 in the trans and castoral syn 80w90 in the t-case/diffs. I replaced the brake shoes/pads with carquest blues and rear drums with raybestos drums. It got new wheel bearings/seals front and rear. Also new king pin bushings and springs. It has a straight pipe and large K&N air filter. I used it around town for a few months and then we moved to Medford Oregon. The truck did a very good job pulling the trailer and averaged about 15 mpg over the 1600 mile mostly uphill trip in the dead of summer with the a/c keeping me cool all the way. After the trip the truck went from trailer puller to daily driver I have put about 16,000 miles on it since I have owned it and it has never let me down. I purchased a set of hummer H1 12 bolt double beedlock wheels and 33x12.50x16.5 super swamper truxus mt tires for winter driving and Christmas tree hunting in the mountains. I will sell the rims and tires for with the truck for an extra $800 over the high bid. The truck gets its oil changed every 3,000 miles with rotella 15w40 engine and syn 5w40 trans. and a new fuel filter every 6,000 mile. The flat bed measures 9' long and 7' wide. Now for the bad. It is a 92 dodge 1 ton 4x4 with 206,000 miles on it. It rides very rough!!! I could use new shocks ( I think they are original) The Trans shifts as good as any GETRAG I have driven but thats not saying much, the shifter is sloppy and 5-4 downshifts above 55 mph will give you a little grind ( It wasn't like that after the rebuild and will not grind in any other gear, I rarely use 5th any more as my commute is all 45 mph or less so it could be from lack of use I noticed it gets better the more I repeat the 5-4 shift when I do get out on the highway, 50mph and below 5-4 is as smooth as all the others). The Rt. side park brake cable broke, I tied it off so the left side still works and holds the truck just fine. The twin stick shifter linkage buzz's at certain rpm's, works perfect just a little annoying (what 1gen cummins doesn't have a few rattles). It is not a pretty truck, the body has lots of dents and scratches, and paint peeling (no cancer), the headliner was sagging so I removed the cloth, the seat has a tear or two, the dash is cracked, there is quite a bit of wind noise going down the road. The steering shaft has play at the steering box joint, and it is certainly no sports car in the curves. The only major rust is on the very back lower plate (where the lights/plate go) its not rusted trough and its not structural but it is rust. If you are looking for a truck that is perfect and plan on nit picking imperfections then you should look elsewhere. If you are looking for a heavy duty work/ranch/firewood truck its for you. It is a factory chassis cab 4x4 cummins with less than 250,000 on it and that is a hard combo to find. It starts on the first bump, has a very clean engine with very good power. I would not be afraid to drive this truck coast to coast. The only reason I am putting it up for sale is because a purchased a 1995 2500 4x4 cheap and plan on using it as my daily driver now. If my reserve isn't met than I will just keep this truck and sell that one. If you have any questions ask though e-bay and if you are serious about wanting to buy the truck I will give you my phone number. I always prefer to talk to a real person when I buy a car. Thanks for looking and happy shopping On Mar-04-12 at 10:03:56 PST, seller added the following information: I learned today that if you want to change your reserve price on an item with bids on it, even if your current reserve is not met you have to end your auction and then re-list it and they will charge you any listing fee's for both auctions. I have done this in the past and have not run into this problem FYI On Mar-06-12 at 07:03:05 PST, seller added the following information: It has 3.50 gears and the dually tires are 235/85 16's On Mar-09-12 at 21:30:17 PST, seller added the following information: You can fly into rouge valley airport anytime I will pick you up and you can drive the truck home, or we could work out a weekend and I could drive the truck up to the Portland air port for you to drive home, and we could split the cost of a portland-medford plane ticket for me to get home. What ever your situation I will do my best to help.
