This listing is for a heavy duty 5.7Liter 2001 Chevy Express 2500 cargo van. I am selling the van because it needs transmission work and I recently upgraded to a newer truck. The van is in great shape cosmetically with no rust whatsoever on the body and no significant rust on the frame. With the exception of the transmission it is in perfect shape mechanically and runs great. It has been serviced regularly and has many new and/or replaced parts that I will list below. I just put two new tires on the rear for winter and recently had a complete comprehensive tune-up when I replaced the engine earlier this year. I had the original 5.0L engine replaced with the 5.7L for additional power and towing capacity. The original 5.0L engine had 195,00 miles and was replaced with a 5.7L with 41,618 miles. The odometer is now showing 201,299 so the replacement engine has around 48,000 miles on it at this time. During the engine swap, all belts, hoses, fluids, and other necessary expendable components were replaced. I had the computer replace also, but still have the original computer that is in perfect working order and will convey with the van. The radiator was also replaced during the engine swap as well as the distributor, plugs, wires, O2 sensors, catalytic converter, and much more. The transmission shifts as it should and the van drives normally until the transmission warms up and then it begins to slip occasionally. Will be no problem to load onto a trailer, low-boy, or flat bed though. The interior is in very good shape and has a partial bulkhead partition to divide the cargo area from the cabin and protect the driver and passenger from shifting cargo. The floor is rubber lined throughout and I added a second rubber cargo mat in the rear for added protection. The console and upholstery are in good shape with the exception of some cracks in the vinyl of the driver's seat (see photos). It really is a great van and would make an excellent vehicle for work or recreation (works great for camping).
