The original magazine ad for the 1984 Jaguar XJ-S sports coupe said it was “created solely for those who demand performance and elegance in their fullest measure. It stands alone as evidence that pure performance and optimal luxury are not mutually exclusive”.
The XJ-S coupe was the successor to the E-type. It was intended to be a luxury grand touring automobile distinguished by the prominent flying buttress rear.
Our silver 1984 XJ-S coupe has only 61,635 miles on it. It has a 5.3 liter V 12 fuel injected engine. The car is equipped with power steering, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, cruise control, AM FM Cass, trip computer, sunroof, rear spoiler, dual exhaust, fog lights and alloy wheels.
We purchased this car about 3 years ago as a restoration project but did not proceed.
The car is being sold with a clear title not just a bill of sale. The Ebay Experion report for the car is clean.
The interior has numerous issues as seen in the photos – passenger seat torn at front bolster, driver seat torn at front and right side bolster, rear seat torn at center and right cushion. The sunroof and power windows are functional.
There is some rust on the trunk but the rest of the car looks good. The wipers are missing and the wiper motor doesn’t work. The emergency brake is not functioning. There may be a fuse / relay problem because the tach, temperature and oil gauges as well as the heater blower and radio are all not operating.
This vehicle is being priced and sold as a project car and while it is running we do not recommend driving the vehicle without a full mechanical inspection. Temporary license plates will not be issued and the car must be towed or transported from our lot.

start, run and drive, unless noted otherwise. This does not mean they are ready
for long trips. We recommend a full mechanical inspection before taking them on
the road.
We do our best to describe our vehicles accurately and include
numerous photographs but small defects
don't always show in pictures. Any
known or visible defects at the time of listing will be stated in the vehicle
description. Classic and vintage vehicles
usually will require sorting out. Please do your research before bidding as all of our cars are sold “as is”.
We welcome you having an independent inspection BEFORE buying but not after the auction
closes. Inspection at the time of pick up and attempts at subsequent
renegotiation will not be permitted and will be cause for forfeiture of the
deposit.
All cars are sold “where is” from our location in Culpeper
VA. Transportation is the responsibility of the buyer. We use Eclipse Auto Transport for all of our transport needs
and suggest you contact them at 800-496-0881 for

A deposit of $500 is required 24 hours after the auction
closes.

the highest amount you are willing to pay. So, we do not start our auctions by
disclosing the lowest we are willing to accept. eBay has resolved this problem
