Vehicle Detail
For sale is a four-wheel drive F-600 in above average condition for it's age. Very mechanically sound in good working order with a very nice cab. I used to drive this truck alot and put over ten thousand miles on it over a three year period. I wouldn't be afraid to take it anywhere, although it is geared extremely low and is best suited to State highways and secondary roads. Engine is a 370cid (destroked, small bore 460) has a cobra jet, cast iron, 4 barrel intake with a holley carb. Runs well and doesn't smoke. It has been sitting a while and the accelerator pump in the carb is leaking. Transmission is a five speed Clark. I have replaced the intermediate shaft and second gear due to wear. Bearings and synchronizers were good and re-used. Seals were replaced. I do belive the PTO gasket has started to leak but is an easy fix. Tranfer case and axels are Rockwell units. I have done nothing to the transfer case since I have owned the vehical, and although it could use seals, it shifts in and out of four wheel drive and high and low range perfectly. I have repacked all of the wheel bearings but otherwise have done nothing to the axels. The front drive shaft has excessive wear at the slip joint and could stand to be rebuilt but using four wheel drive in slow speed situations it poses no problems with operation of the vehical. Also has hub locks so in two wheel drive and hubs unlocked the drive shaft poses no problems. Brakes are the "Snigle HYDRVAC" style and has eight new wheel cylinders (two per wheel) replaced last summer with all new rubber and hard lines and a new master cylinder. Brakes are very strong. Steering is hydro boosted with a hydraulic ram on the passenger side. The hoses to the the ram are new as of last summer. Tires have about 90% tread but due to sitting are starting to chek on the side walls. These are heavy duty tires (9 ply I think) so they are not bad, but if your subject to DOT inspections this may be an issue. The drivers rear, outer has a small leak in the tube. The dump bed hoist is a new "Crysteel Stingray" twin, dual acting cylinders 17.5 ton capacity. I bought this and installed it new in 2004 but it has not been used. It has a new Muncie PTO and Pump. The PTO came with an air actuator but the truck does not have air, so this needs to be converted to electric or cable. The bed is custom but not finished. The main beams are 8" channel iron with 4" channel floor beams on 12" centers. The floor is 1/4" thick; sides and front are 10 guage. There is no tailgate and the bed needs welded out. It is professionally built! not a peice of crap and weighs about 1,200lbs. The tack welds holding it together are very strong and are fine for transportation. The cab is very nice but not perfect. I have been offered $1,200.00 for it alone because it is vertually rust free. It does have a dent in the drivers side cab corner and a small dent in the roof above the drivers door towards the wind shield. The front fenders have rust around the wheel openings but other wise are soild. The hood and grill are in good condition. This truck started life as a linemans truck so it has minor dings and scratches. The paint is faded. I will only accept PAYPAL or cash!! Due to the fake money orders and cashiers checks out there I will not accept them. I will require a $100.00 non-refundable deposite via PAYPAL to cover listing fees. Please be sure your interested in the truck before bidding. I have been active with EBAY for over eight years and I know how the game is played. If I feel that the winning bidder acted in bad faith I absolutly will not refund the deposit. If I believe there was a dicrepency between my discription of the vehical and what the buyer believes they see, I will be fair. I have perfect feed back and am not looking to take advantage of anyone. I live near Chicago but the truck is near Corydon, Indiana at a friends buisness. Anyone who wants to view the truck can see it at "Shewmakers Farm Equipment". 5208 Hwy. 135, Corydon, IN. 47112. My friend Ron would be happy to show it, but in an effort to prevent an undo burden on my friend, I would like a two day notice before anyone goes to see it with the expectation of hearing it run and drive it. You can stop for a visual during normal buisness hours Monday through Saturday without appointment . Anyone with questions can call me direct 312-520-5809 The purchaser will be expected to pick the vehical up at its current location or arrange for shippment. I will not personally ship or deliver it. It is okay to sit at its current location for up to three weeks after the sale but I do expect full payment within two weeks. Payment can be made at Shewmakers if more convienient. Thanks for Looking, Chris
