Vehicle Detail

For you consideration is a 1967 firebird that was fully restored in 1991 and was not garaged the first year post restoration, but later the first year, was garage kept and was not driven or left out in rain. The car is not a matching numbers car and had its VIN tag stolen while in the body shop so had to get a Georgia Salvage VIN. New sheet metal included GM quarters, fenders, trunk lid, rear window filler panel, floor pans and trunk floor. The 400 hood, doors and top are original. Interior was fully redone with quality seat covers, carpeting, headliner, etc. The Alternator was converted to a one wire, 125 amp unit, ignition was upgraded with an MSD6a and Accel magnetic pickup distributor (No points). The engine was bored 40 over and has forged pistons, bracket racing CAM, double roller rockers and timing chain, Peformer RPM intake and many other goodies. The heads are number 16s that were bored out to accommodate 2.0 valves (Exhaust are 1.66") and the heads have been nicley ported. The engine was rebuilt when the odometer was at 13k so only 15k miles on the engine. The carburetor is a Barry Grant Speed Demon. The drive train has an excellent Muncie M22 (Wide Ratio), Dougs drive shaft, and a converted 79 10 bolt, disk brake posi rear with 3:42 Gears and non-necked down hardened axles. The front was also converted to disk brakes and is powered by a Corvete master cylinder and appropriate meetering block. The car also has power stearing with the 4 wheel power disk breaks. The car has a new wiring harness, factory hood tach (The factory original was not working), Rear spoiler and custom 3rd brake light. The orginal AM radio was maintained but is not hooked up. The custom braket below the dask houses a vintage pioneed sterio with active crossover and 4 way amp under the seats. The doors have pioneer satelite woofer and tweeters and the rear deck houses two 10 inch free air woofers. The suspension and body mounts were upgraded with graphite impregnated poly urathane bushings, a large front sway bar, subframe connectors and Lakewood lift bars to help the factory monoleaf suspension. The exhaust is a 2.5 inch flowmaster force two setup with "H" crossover (One large muffler in front of the gas tank so none underneath that produces a nice throaty, non abrasive sound) and is hooked up to a like new set of Hooker ceramic coated headers. True ram air setup from the center headlight position with outer headlights upgrade to Halogens (Low and High beams on these). PPG Base / Clear paint with urathane primer throughout including interior. Boyd 17" forged rims and new Kumo tires are new. Rare items on this car include original Rally Guage cluster (All working, ALT not hooked up due to larger altenator would burn it out), Factory Hood Tach, and very rare fold down rear seat. Now for the warts - The car runs but needs some tuning working as it only gets out of the garage 2-3 times a year. The pot metal hood scoops are pealing and there are some chipsin the paint on the front end. Even though the rear deck was new metal, there is some bubbling along the seam at the back window (Common on these and Camaros). There is one bubble on the inside door kick panel and one on the roof rail on the driver side, but these are very small. Considering this car was painted in 1991, it still looks great! The rear door windows need adjustment and have come off of thier rails. One window crank in the back is missing the clip that holds it on, but would be easy to replace. The care does not have seatbelts, but the car was provisoned in 67 with shoulder mount attachment points (Under headliner). I have a makeshift set of 69 belts mounted for the front seats that are usable. On Feb-21-12 at 13:04:26 PST, seller added the following information: For you consideration is a 1967 firebird that was fully restored in 1991 and was not garaged the first year post restoration, but later the first year, was garage kept and was not driven or left out in rain.
