Vehicle Detail
Private Collector selling my 1978 MG Midget. This Midget is a time capsule with only 12,089 original miles. Everything is original, down to the tires. This little car has just been professionally serviced (fluids, etc) and starts and drives great. From everything we checked, all seems to work as it did from the factory. I am the second owner. I bought the car 7 years ago with approximately 11,000 miles on it and have taken it to a few shows and a rally. Otherwise, it has been stored inside all it's life (including the prior owner). While the car is NOT PERFECT, it is a close to original and showroom as I think you will find one of these little gems. Look at the pictures, and ask any questions. The only blemish that I could find worth noting was the rear bumper has lost some coloring on one side (I've included a pic of that). Also, a little of the orange paint on the engine valve cover has started to peel, AND I just noticed today there is a crack in the MG emblem in the center of the steering wheel. None of these defects are bad or take away from the appearance, and all can be easily fixed at very little cost to the new owner. Otherwise, there is normal wear from 12,000 miles and storage and handling for 34 years. The paint as in VERY GOOD condition, with only a few minor blemishes. It is all original, and looks GREAT. There is NO RUST ! NONE... that I can find, which is not surprising given it's life indoors these past 34 years. Looking under the car, it has been undercoated with a black undercoat spray at some point in it's life. There are the usual oily places these British cars have as the diff, the oil pan, and the transmission all are "oily looking", but the car does NOT drip or leave spots on the garage floor. The title is clear. I have not registered the car in several years to save on taxes, so the buyer will need to do that for themselves. The reason for selling: I've had it long enough. Time for someone else to enjoy it. This car is for Local Pick up at my home in Fort Worth Texas. I can work with anyone who wants to come pick it up or towed/trailered, but I don't have time to deliver it. It can be driven, but remember...the car is not currently registered. I'm not a dealer, so I can't give you a temporary license plate. This car is being sold AS IS WHERE IS. So come by and see it, ask questions, etc before you bid.
