For sale is a 1984 Mercedes Benz 300Turbo Diesel - 3.0L 5 cylinder - Auto Trans. This car is just getting broken in at 132K miles. I bought this car in September 2011 with the intention of converting it to run on waste vegetable oil. I never had the time to install the conversion and now I will be traveling most of the new year for work. Because there is no one to drive this car while I'm gone I have decided to sell it. It has been my daily driver and project car for the past 6 months. The turbo works, no smoke, no noise, does not burn through much oil. I have been working on this car for the past 6 months and I have changed or repaired the following and have receipts for most of it: 4 brand new tires ($600 value) new battery new alternator 2 new glow plugs new vacuum valve levers tuned VCV valve tuned vacuum control module very clean interior - all gauges work properly giant power sun roof - rare to find these still working all power windows work perfectly All lights work perfectly (low/high/fog/reverse/tail/brake) Strong clean frame and suspension Below are things that are not in perfect order: Small hole in drivers seat. (pictured) Cracked front turn signal lens (passenger side) very small area of surface rust near front drivers side headlight (hasnt bubbled can be repaired without a patch. Pictured) needs passenger side air dam cover small oil leak - its not a big leak so I haven't looked into where it's coming from Neutral Safety Switch (this has not been confirmed but is a common problem) ($50 part) - this switch stops the starter from engaging if the trans is not in park. This part often goes bad on these models. Once in a while I will get no response from turning the key but the car will start right up in neutral or by bypassing the NSS with an alligator clip in the engine bay. This points to NSS but I have not done a formal test. Needs carpet and/or fitted floor mats There is a small rust repair in the rear passenger floor pan. Vacuum controlled power door locks don't work (this is common) Needs new drivers seat belt clip Plan to replace ignition tumbler in near future ($40 part - 10 minute job) This is a great daily driver that could be mint with a little TLC. If you are in the market for a car to be converted to a grease car/bio diesel or just an inexpensive car with a lot of character this is perfect. It's classy and will run forever if treated right. I have been driving and working on this car myself and you can trust I have shared all the info I have about it's condition. Buyer pays/arranges for pick up. I will consider a delivery within tri-state area if the price is right.
