Vehicle Detail
Second time around on this car as the previous bidder did not pay or pick it up. Up for bids is this 1985 Jag XJ-6. First off, the car has a transmission problem. It goes in to reverse and backs up, but will not go into any forward gears. Subsequently, it will need to be towed or trailored back to your location. The car sat for about a year and a half and the engine did start quite easy and seems to run well. The power windows all work as well as the sun roof powers in and out. The heater works well. Not sure about the AC as it is only about 15 degrees f. here today. Wipers work. Signals, lights and gages all seem to work. As seen in the photos, there is a rectangular hole in the dash ahead of the shifter where the radio is missing. The finnish on the wood dash has some cracking. The car also has Dayton Wire wheels that appear to be in good usable condition. The car has several dents as seen in the photos. One on the driver's side front fender near the door. The other on the front passanger door. The books and paperwork pictured were in the car and go with it. I have a clear title that has been signed by the previous owner. The car was originaly sold by Charles H. Hornburg, Jr. Imported Motor Cars, 9176 Sunset Blvd. Los Angeles, Calif 90069. The buyer was, George E. Towers, 321 Dalehurst Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90024. Delivery Date was 6-18-85 The car has had at least several owners in between. Repair, or Restore, it is up to you. I took the car as payment for a repair to a farm tractor. Payment is expected in 10 days or the car will be relisted. The car can stay here for up to 90 days, but after that it will be re-sold if it is not picked up. I am not in the storage business and will not be respodsable for items left behind. If you bid, and win. please pick it up ASAP. Got Questions??? Ask away Mateys, I'll answer as best as I can. Need more photos? Just Ask. If anyone wants to come and see the car, arrangements can be made for a day and time. E-mail, or phone. 518-325-7610. I'm in and out this time of the year, so if I do not answer please leave a message and I will return your call as long as it is not an overseas call. If over seas, please just e-mail. It is selling at no reserve, If you are the high bidder, you will own it.The battery is not included, I had to borrow it from my Suburban just to test the car. Thanks for looking and bid to win. Dave!
