Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1961 Buick Skylark for restoration and enjoyment! 215 cu inch aluminum V-8 engine with lightweight aluminum transmission case. 84,134 original miles. All original parts. 4 barrel carb. Power steering. Manual brakes. It's a running vehicle. It needs brakes all the way around. Brake and fuel lines are ok. Turn signals, fuel gauge and lights all work. Original radio was removed for AM/FM tape player, but I still have the original radio and will include that as part of the sale. Carpets will need to be replaced. Seats are covered and are structurally sound but need cosmetic reupholstering. Manual windows. New 13" white-wall tires were recently put on the car. The spare is also new. (see picture). Original deluxe buick hubcaps. As might be expected, the body has some rust on the quarter panels. There is also a section under the back bumper which has rusted out. The driver's side floor is beginning to sag. Headliner is in tact. There is a small leak that comes in on the passenger side by the floor vent and has caused some mildew. Windshield has a small chip. For restoration buffs, I have the original owner's manuals. This car was a limited edition of 30,000. New body style exclusive to Skylark. This thin pillar sedan became so popular that the body style was adopted for all Skylark and Special models in 1962. The car needs restoration work to be brought back to its full glory. Could be a great little car. I am the third owner. It was purchased from McCall-Fransen dealership in Tarrytown, NY. It's been in my family since 1975. I had plans to restore the car myself, but I have recently acquired another project car and have decided to work on that one instead. So, time to sell this one... This is a non-titled vehicle as none was required due to the age. Payment and Particulars The vehicle has been described to the best of my ability and is being sold AS IS with no warranties expressed or implied. Please ask all questions BEFORE you bid. Deposit of $300 due via PayPal within 48 hours of auction close. Buyer responsible for arranging for pick-up (tow or flatbed due to brakes recommended).
