Vehicle Detail
I had the engine rebuilt with a large cam which makes it lope at idle, pretty cool. It has a high performance intake manifold and the only Holly carb that is California legal. I put on auxiliary electric fans with a switch to keep the fans running when the engine is off until it cools down. I live in Redding, CA and in the summer it can get up to 115 degrees outside. By having the engine cool down when I go inside somewhere it gives it a great head start driving in the heat. The A/C works good. I charge it once a year and it lasts until the next year, it has a small pinhole leak that I haven't gotten around to fixing. The lights work and come up but with the big cam the vacuum is lacking so they are slow. An extra vacuum reservoir would fix that. It has a high rise hood to accommodate the manifold and carb. It has custom tail lights, steering wheel and driver's seat but I have all the originals as well, I also have the original carb. It has a custom exhaust with Turbo Flo 40s, sounds awesome. Could use carpet. It has recent paint which is good but not perfect. I had the transmission rebuilt and they didn't replace the nylon gear for the speedometer so it doesn't work although I spun the cable and the speedo itself seems to work. The one thing I would add if I kept it is a torque converter. Because of the big cam all of the horsepower is developed at high RPM and a stall converter would make it quicker from a standing start. It is a salvage car (I don't know why) but it looks and drives great and straight. It needs a heater core, I bypassed it because it leaks.
