I am very careful about my descriptions having gone on many wild goose chases to see bikes and cars that turned out to be in far less condition than advertised. I am sure many of you have been in the same boat so I will do my utmost to describe this beauty so that there are NO disappointments. NO reserve, it will sell to highest bidder and there is no doubt that new owner will be totally delighted and thrilled to get this special bike with such low original miles . This is a spectacular 1982 Honda CBX 1000 sport touring motorcycle with ONLY 3476 original miles and in superb condition with matching numbers and a clear New Hampshire title. I have many photos in this listing but if you want another of a specific area, please ask. Bike runs beautifully with smooth and strong clutch, incredibly fine brakes, pulls strong thru all gears with no hesitation or stumbling. Tracks perfectly with no wobble or shimmy and handles better than one would think a sport tourer of this era might. Carbs are synched perfectly and there are no mechanical problems of any kind. All lights and dash instruments work perfectly Paint finish is absolutely beautiful and almost scratch free. Only place is a bit of chipping on the right side rear of the front fender as can be seen in a close-up photo. All bodywork is dent free and there are no cracks or repairs to any of the fiberglass.Even under the headlight is in outstanding condition and all paint if original. Beautiful pearl white with metallic dark blue. Brand new Bridgestone Spitfire 11F 100/90-19 57H tire on front and brand new Bridgestone Spitfire 11R 130/90-18 69H on rear. Vented front disc brakes with twin piston calipers. Original owners manual, tool kit complete with the feeler gauge that came with it and Honda gauge for front forks. Original seat is perfect with NO flaws. Locking luggage can be removed from mounts and I have shown photos of it both with them on and removed which only takes a few seconds. Mono shock "Pro-link" progressive linkage system and an aluminum swinging arm works perfectly. The wheels are near perfect and super clean. It has a 6 into 1, DG exhaust that is almost perfect and is rust free. Now to list the very few flaws. It has a factory nick (not really a nick but more of a tiny deformed section on top lip of windshield no bigger than 1/8"). The small paint chips on back edge of front fender that I already stated. Missing one gauge cover in faring. Small bit of chrome bubbling on gas cap lock cover. Small section on black cover for front brake reservoir that should be repainted. Handlebars have some touched up paint chips. Engine on right side crankcase should be repainted as it has lost some paint for some odd reason. Tiny nick in paint on the handrail behind the seat. Chrome on luggage locks is bubbling while the rest of the luggage is near perfect. Chrome on chain guard perfect except for top edge has some light courseness in spots. Please note that I use my own picture service so you get larger and higher quality photos and I took many to show every aspect of this bike so you get no unwanted surprises. And unlike many of the listings on eBay, I have gone to great lengths to fully disclose any problems. I cannot crate and buyer is responsible for shipping or can pick up here. Can hire local to deliver to Forward Air in Boston for an extra $100.00 if that helps. On Feb-09-12 at 04:47:17 PST, seller added the following information: In answer to some questions I have already received, I am not the original owner. I just purchased it recently to add to my collection as it was one I have always wanted but another bike I have been chasing for years just came up so I have to sell this and a couple of others to help finance it. The corrosion is very light on the motorcycle, minimal actually and only on the gas cap and a bit on the chain guard that looked like water droplets to me. The worse by far is on the bag latches and my guess is they were stored in a damp place like a cellar but it only affected the latches. No other corrision on the bike except paint loss on the one spot on engine and I am guessing a rag was left on it or something that got damp to cause that. No original exhaust. No major service work done as it needed nothing but brake fluids replaced and oil changed. No rust in the tank. It was babied and it is the finest example I have seen of an unrestored CBX.
